Ride Allan monday Front part was pretty pounded from the weekend crews the back behind super bowl was better but needs snow the only fresh snow is in the trees or has a big ledge hanging above it rode with Jeff from terracana he's a nice guy my friends clutch exploded at what he said was as far back at Allan as you can get. It was very fun doubling my 280 pound friend out and back in when we got a new clutch on Tuesday swapped it back there and sleded till 7 pm went back to terracana had super and went to bed but my friends decided to stay up and fight by the fire so I woke up and 2 of them left and the other guy and I just came home. Got to love the adventure of sledding

Rode Allan today. Trail is in good shape but getting pretty set up even in the trees. Need a reload or a little warmer temps to turn the crust into missed potatoe snow.

Bit of an update for the weekend. Allan and Chappell will be groomed throughout the weekend if conditions allow. Access is still good to both of these areas. Clemina trail is great after the 3km marker. Access to Clemina from the main staging area will be a bit dirty for the first 1.5kms.

From the VARDA Board and the local community, would like to thank everyone for riding Valemount. It has been a great season all around and we are already looking forward to next year.

Enjoy this last push with the groomers and have a great weekend.

Curtis, for curiosity sake, what is the LATEST date you guys have been able to groom up to?

Rode Allan again today. Trail still in pretty good shape but will get pretty dicey if you guys are not nice to it. Keep the throttle steady and avoid spinning and polishing the switch backs. Found some pretty nice play areas in the steep northern exposure trees today but had to get in the dark ugly areas to find it. Don't expect to find fresh along the goat trail. Overall a pretty good couple days for this time of year. Shout out to Cougar Lodge for the great hospitality. If you haven't stayed there, definitely check it out.

Rode Allen today.
Grooming was perfect warm weather or not. Sheet of glass on the way up.
Snow on top was heavy as expected for April 15 but not crusty at all. Powdery in the morning and found a few untouched pockets.
Tracked but far from tracked out. Untouched lines to be had for sure past avalanche alley!

Well worth the drive and one of the best days this year!

Chappel isn't bad. About 0.5km of gravel. Not sure if they are grooming Saturday night. Thinking they wont be because its pretty slushy for the first 6-7 km. Once up top there was about 6-8" of fresh. still lots of areas to play on.

We rode Chappel on Thursday. Rained first part of the day and turned to snow up higher. Cleared up mid day and really good snow yet and groomer was running when we came down Thursday night. Trail had some bare spots for 1 km and then good after that.

Rode Clemina on Friday. Rain and snow in AM. Quite abit of bare spots to 2+ k and then into snow on trail. We thought the trail was good considering no recent grooming and done for season. Very good snow up top yet.

Rode Allen today. Snow is packed and tracked out around the cabin. But if you know where to go and head past avalanche alley, lots of good snow still to be found. Really good snow still, considering it's April

Had a EPIC Easter weekend in Valemount. Hit up Allen Friday and Sunday, and Blue river Saturday. Snow was good both places just gotta get off the beaten path and passed superbowl at Allen, Blue river was good little bit heavy but we found some untouched and made a few jumps. Snow was getting pretty crusty at the end of Sunday at Allen since the sun was out and warm. Stayed at Summit River lodge and as always it was great, thank you Terry! While we have put the groomers away for the season, the riding certainly is not over.

Another round of fresh snow hit the valley bottom this morning and that means there must be some great snow up top. This time of year, you never know when its going to hammer down and very often we get surprised with some amazing snowfalls up in the mountains that were not in the forecast, so our advice is to take the gamble and get out for a ride while you still can!

We will try to send out a few more updates for you as we get information on access, snowline etc. although it can be hard to come by this time of year.

From everyone at VARDA, we would like to offer a sincere thank you for your support this season. It was an unusual one for sure although we think it went out with a bang and it doesnt look to be over yet. We are in the office all summer, so please feel free to contact us for anything you may need.

Remember, Valemount is pretty amazing in the summer as well !

Ride safe.
