Yes Pics Please ,
Snow report Tuesday morning from ground zero .
- Temps are just below zero which means the snow from the weekend is hanging around .
- The ground is frozen at lodge
- The forecast has some good snow in it and temps are staying cold so the rain can't wash it away .
I gotta leave in the morning for McMurray for a week but will keep in touch with Dan here at the lodge for updates .
I think this is a great start , remember it's only Nov 10 and the key to a good season start is temps that keep the precipitation coming down as snow instead of rain and building the base layer.
That's my two sense fellow S&Mudders .
Hers pics from this morning looks blue bird up there.
I believe an official VARDA Snow Report will be offered up later in week.
The VARDA Team just got back from Saskatchewan SledShow yesterday and are prepping for a great season .
Meantime everyone check your gear , get your survival pack in order , take an avalanche course and ride smart.
If you don't have any communication devices to stay in touch with your group on the mountain please at least go to crappy tire and buy a set of two way radios.
These can save someone's life.
Sled , gear , trailer = $15k - $40 k
Cdn tire radio = $60 for 2 = someone's life

Let's have an wicked steep and deep season with great friends /family and everyone comes home to their family/friends .

First sailing today. The pics above look awesome, saw your tracks. Just remember it's super thin!

We rode Allen Creek today and ventured back to hillclimb. Snowpack varied from 20-70cms in the alpine. Nice cool temps (-7) up top which is good news. It's still pretty gnarly up there super thin for riding...access trail is actually in pretty good shape all the way up from the parking lot for now....

Hi everyone.

Please be very careful out there. Reports of widespread avalanche activity in the Allen creek area today. Many were slopes that people would ride over the weekend. These are large slides....

When the airwaves are quiet and you see Summit River with that much snow I wouldn't be sitting by the phone all day....lol! Looks like an "out of gas by 2" kind of day... Should be something interesting show up tonight on the old report page.

Hey 16 to Edson is just wet, take extra washer fluid! Half way between Hinton and Edson it starts to get slushy and a little slippery. One truck in the toolie patch on Obed. Slow through Jasper lots of sheep on the roads and still bridge work with two traffic lights, the rest of the way is snowy and a bit icy. Keep it cool and it's smooth sailing...
