Looks like they have the 6.4L gas motor from the srt cars in the 2500s now. They also gave it the cylinder management so a tail wind or down hill drive or driving under 110 you will kick down into less cylinders.

They are stating its better on fuel than the less power 5.7 running 8 cylinders all the time.

Might be worth looking into, auto 4x4 would be an awesome option for the 2500s too.

and that engine management is crap, its in v4 mode so little its hardly noticeable. coasting downhill with your foot completely off the pedal was the only time I saw it, then any little varation in terrain or bumps and it kicks back to v8

I see it quite a bit on my 1500 with a 2.5" lift and 34s. Are you talking about a 2500 with the 6.4L?
