2013 pro with a eletrical issue HELP

I was going up the trail about 2 km and looked down and saw that my dash display was not working. so I stopped and check a few of the plugs. After I turned it off and on the sled would not rev up enough to engage the clutch. so i got a Ski Doo to pull me out.

when it was cold it ran well enough too go around the block but started bogging out after about 2 min of running.


I switched out the gages with my buddy's sled. his gage does not work in my sled and my gage works in his sled. so I would say its not the dash display gage.

any help would be greatly appreciated

I am having the same problem. My guess is that your headlights work, but the gauge cluster doesn't? Headlights run off of AC power. Mine has lost all DC power. Swapped out my regulator/rectifier,ECU, with no change. Kinda lost. I was thinking stator, but if it is making AC power, it is working,at least that is what I was told.

You guys are both probably having relay problems in your electrical system. Guys on Snowest forum are convinced the relays on these sleds are very susceptible to water damage. More details there on where they are, how to check for damage, buying replacements, etc.

I had a similar issue and it turned out to be the capacitor (black thing by the voltage regulator) I would unplug the capacitor and get some alligator clips and put a battery in line where the capacitor would go and test it that way. Might not be your issue but sounds similar so maybe give that a try. My issue was on a 12 pro so maybe they aren't the same.

Replaced it, but no change

I was told today that I have a short somewhere in my main wiring harness. New one is on the way. Will see if that fixes it! Keep my fingers crossed:confused:

what size of battery ? and where is the capacitor located?

I used a 12 volt atv battery but any 12 volt should work. On my 2012 it was the black square looking thing by the voltage regulator.

i had a strange problem like this with my 13 ,i turned out that the main wiring harness was rubbing on the secondary clutch , a simple fix and some thing to check.

Well wasn't the wiring harness, but it ended up being a rivet body in the stator. Guessing a rivet must have fallen into the stator when I rolled it over in the snow. I recently had the belly pan off, so there must have been an old rivet still in there.

I'm having a similar issue with my 13, seems as it heats up it starts to bog then on the way back wouldn't rev about 1/4 throttle without it feeling like it's hitting a rev limiter. I'm assuming the rivet tore up enough of the stator for it to put out low voltage but still enough run?

it did at the start of the day then about 10-15 minutes in I got a check engine light for low voltage, another 5 minutes and the gauge quit

I had the luxury of another pro there so I could swap out all of the easy parts like the rectifier, relay, capacitor. lol. If it ends up being the wiring harness, let me know!! I have a spare one!But that is what mine did and it and it was the stator.

Well my voltage regulator finally showed up and that seemed to fix it, will know for sure this Sunday.
