Beautiful day to live in the mountains, although at this time of year, I wish for storm clouds.......not sunshine and above zero temps

Weather cam looks pretty tho

Forecast

I know everyone is itchin to ride, although with all this recent rain, there is NO access to the snowline. I hate to say that, but I report it like it is.......

As far as I know, there are no issues besides the small sluff that has been there for a long time. I will talk with Vince asap and getter figured. Id head out there, but Im on my way to saskatoon tomorrow am so maybe next week. Anyone have first hand info or is this all just gossip?

Still rain at low elevations:mad:. We have opened the lower gate so the die hards can try this weekend if they like. We really do hope that folks will respect the need to keep the road in decent shape and refrain from driving passed the first bridge as the trail is extremely soft. If the road gets destroyed we will have to consider keeping it closed in future years until sufficient snowfall, so try to do a bit of self policing out there please.

The gate at 3km will remain closed until grooming commences although the "old" trail is still the best for early season access anyway.

If I wasnt going to saskatoon, this would be the first weekend in 10years that I would choose not to ride on the Nov long. Dont mean to be discouraging, just telling it like it is and I hope you all appreciate my honesty.

Ride safe and keeper in one piece

Yup Oasis is completely washed out! no point in even bothering with it this year. As a matter of fact, I will personally check it out each time i'm in Valemount this season and i'll let you all know when its "safe" to make an attempt:cool:

We have broke that trail several times. Always interesting. Thinking we will be taking a crack at it first trip out again this year. Cost me a track last year but we made it in. There was about 25-30 sleds that didnt make it through the cutblock that day.

yeah, i've seen 13 sleds leave the trucks ahead of us and we passed them all in the cutblock. Its not a very good place to ride anyway. stupid stumps!

less01 just let me know when your planning a trip, I wouldn't mind riding with ya again.

Dam'd if you do, dam'd if you dont:dontknow:

Its totally puking in town right now, with temps just above zero BUT.....

The chappell weather station shows no precip

And the highway cam in Blue looks dry from what I can tell...but its night tim....could be wrong
B.C. Highway Cams

Once you get around canoe mtn its a whole new ball game, weather wise. If I had to guess, by the weather station data, there is no significant snowfall down south to help our access although Im sure the alpine is getting hammered.

Im off to the Saskatoon snow show tomorrow at 530am so this is likely my last report, although if i wake up to 3' I will post up a pic...lol

Its still a complete gamble. If you choose to give it a try, good luck and ride safe.
