Anybody check out the skidoo site lately? I was dissapointed in the color choice for the 'X' this year the black one looks ok, and there doesn't seem to be a 1000 xp, I was hoping there was going to be a show in edmonton but the site doesn't advertize one, only in calgary!! AC and polaris are going to be in edmonton. I was hoping to have a new xp next season but the colors offered the year are making me want a new dragon 800, their white for 09 and look really good.

did they end up adding any weight to the 800x? It looks like the mxz 600 weighs 15 lbs more than last year.

I seen pics of it at the dealer here in town, I like it polaris has a nice lineup, and I'm hoping i'll get to see the 09 X in person it might look alright.

That could just be the proper, true weight. In an issue of Snow Sports I have, it shows the "actual" weights of machines, and they're an average of 15-20 lbs heavier than advertised.

According to the Doo website, their Edmonton show will be on April 12th at Northlands hall D. 10am to 5 pm. It says 4 manufacturers…so I’m guessing that Polaris, Cat and Yamaha will be there too.

Color would be a terrible reason to go over to the dark side. I am sure you would regret it and you would most likely get alot of abuse from other doo members on this site. Get the black one or custom paint the blue one.:D

From a Dootalk post on the 2009 Summit. Didn't put a link as I didn't know if that was "kosher" on this site.

I don't know about you - but it sound like the 09 Summit XP is going to be the 05 Summit Rev. Thiose things were dialed out of the box and just a joy to own.

For as much bitching as there has been on the 08's - my dealer (who I trust with my life) has said that there were less probs on them than the 07's. Interesting how it is blown out of proportion on the internet. All I know is I had three hard days on a XP this year - and fell in love with that chassis.

Snowchecking a 09 - and that higher seat means I don't have to go aftermarket. A little higher risers on it and it should be "ready to go".

At the Mpls Spring Show, a group of us cornered a very knowledgeable tech. Along with me were LRD, Eman and Big John was lurking in the background.

Here's what we found out:

-- Driveshaft problem addressed…long story short, inconsistent vendor quality, but they are ensuring it is a non-issue for ‘09
-- Drive Belt issue – new 377 belt, new secondary helix (has less belt pressure, less heat), improved gearing, dead on clutch alignment and adjustable motor mounts
> Interesting that he thought floating the secondary wouldn’t be a bad idea…just not want doo wants to do
-- New secondary adjustment system
-- New Air Intake system both internal and external. New larger airbox spring loaded airbox intake will only drop engine RPMs by 100 if fully blocked externally
-- New 3 wheel rear axle (only on X packages?)
-- Tunnel is slightly widened and tracks will be milled on the edges for better tunnel fitment
-- New seat foam density
-- A bunch of other minor improvements throughout

They do not want any mountain rider stranded in a bad situation due to XP reliability issues…they appeared to be embarrassed by the 08 issues and are determined to address them.

It was nice to hear a Fix for everything we threw at him, rather than a denial of a problem. It made me want to buy an 09 even more
