My 2006 rev 800 has just under 4000 km and i replaced the keyway that locates rotor to jackshaft cause it was wore and when putting it back together the chain has alot of slack so i have decided to replace it do i have to replace the gears also they look fine but is it a good idea to replace them with a new chain? Thanks

The chain was one of the few weak spots on the 06. I would buy a 15 wide top gear ( same # of teeth as your current 13 wide gear ) along with a 15 wide new chain and run the 13 wide bottom gear that is in there. That year was stock 13 wide chain and more than a few have popped right when you did need that to happen. So for the price of new top gear ( your buying a chain anyway) you crossed that issue off the list.
