2002 Dodge cummins

Hey guys im new to this site,anyways i got a 2002 dodge cummins 4x4 6 speed thats in the process of getting built,im hoping to get a sled in the summer and build it but was wondering should i build a sled deck or just haul it in the back (8 foot box) thanks guys

Obviously a deck lets you carry 2 machines but I preferred hauling a single sled in the box of the truck - lower loading height, keeps the center of gravity lower, simpler etc. A tri-folding aluminum ramp works fine for loading/unloading just put a couple tie-straps from the ramp to the bumper so you don't push the ramp off the back when you unload.

I like having a deck even for one sled, more storage, easy to load. Fuel mileage with a deck is a lot worse though.

X2 on the deck. lots of storage and the ability to haul 2 sleds without a trailer is a major advantage. Deck also doubles as a box cover and keeps the stuff underneath dry and outta site.
