This moring i was leaving my place and was going down the road and there was some nasty ice drifts, They were higher than the bottom of my truck.

Was going along and all of a sudden i heard a squeel like a belt slip and then the check engine light came on, I looked underneath once i got to work and the whole engine bay is solid with ice. We got it in the shop with some heaters blowing in there.

what do you figure it could be, and how do you reset the check engine light to see if it was just a fluke.

Thanks,

May have been caused by the belt slipping..... Wait to see once you try disconnecting the battery and then restart it.... Computer might see it is okay now. If not, then you will have to get the vehicle "scanned" for fault codes and go from there.

yes the eec v systems require the codes to be cleared cannot be reset by disconnecting the battery

I SUSPECT THE BELT SLIPPED AND THE COMPUTER DIDN'T SEE PROPER VOLTAGE FROM THE ALTERNATOR AND IMMEDIATELY RECOGNIZED A PROBLEM. IF THE LITE DOESN'T COME BACK ON, THEN DON'T FIX WHAT AIN'T BROKEN....... NO WORRIES.:d
