So I'm starting to think about getting a new sled I ride a 2013 154 trygstad 872 right now.. I do mostly only tree riding. Been really thinking of going to the 163 t3 but have been hearing lots of good things about the 3" 154. Was wondering what would be better to go with pros and cons of both.. Think I'm leaning more towards the 163 3"

thanks

154 is a rowdier ride 163 keeps the front end down a bit better and gives you a bit more decision time. Really comes down to how aggressive a rider you want to be?

How tall are you and what is your riding weight plays a big part is your choice. IMO
On the net no one ever takes that into account.
Reason for all the gimmicks to help out shorter lighter riders.

Agree with all of the above, size of rider is a big decision piece, even if your a little dude my vote is the 163 for all around riding conditions, 154 far too often have shortcomings when the snow gets deep, when that deep or steep surprises you, you will be really thankful for that extra length, on the 154 you will find yourself dug in more than is preferable. Also on the 154 you need to keep your speed up, on the 163 and 174's you can slow things down and take your time choosing your lines. As for me, nothing less than 174, the sled is a beast and never stops climbing and I make it turn on a dime when I want to, 6'1" 240 lbs makes that easy, smaller dudes might battle that length more, works for me though.

I've never been out and said "man, I wish I had a shorter sled!"
If I was a young whippersnapper with mad skills, I think I would ride a 154.
Until then, I'm on my 174.(unless someone builds a longer one)

I rode 2014 154 last year. This year 2014 163. Next year 154 3". 154 go almost anywhere 163 or 174 go. Only diff is hold to bar to get there. Maybe 2 runs at some things. But wayyyy more fun all around. Imo

What he said. After a bunch of 163s I have went back to a 154 t3. No regrets here at all. You definitely have to work harder to get it done on a 154 but WAY more fun in my opinion. I think its one of those things that there isnt a right or wrong answer to. Just depends on what you are after. A 163 and 174 is going to be more forgiving and go farther, but you give up playfulness.

Yep.. for that 1 weekend every 2 years that you get too much snow, I think the 154 would be my next choice over the 163 or 174. Just a lot more fun period.

5'10 250lbs and my 174" is just as nimble for me in almost all situations. AND best of all is yes I do have that time to adjust my lines without panicking about burying it. I love it!

174 does not wheelie like the 163. Suspension set back appx 5 inches

a 163 doesn't wheelie like a 154 lol all depends on what kind of riding style u have.... I have both a 154 and a 163 and t be honest I like a 154 better because I have a more aggressive style of riding ability, that being said when I run my 163 t3 I feel I have way more control to ride through some pretty sketchy areas. all to your own I guess

the 163" T3 (which I currently have) is a fun sled. You can have a bit more control in the trees. Less throttle but more control. I have ridden my fathers 154" 2.5" lugs in the mountain and I think I prefer it better then my 163"! Definitly more fun. More of a show off sled. He recently put a 3" on it and messed with the gearing. I'm excited to try it. I will be buying a 154" T3 next.

I just sold my 2013 154 xm and bought a 2016 163 t3 I'll say this the 154 was always to the bars which was fun but with the snow this year I'm not missing it it's amazing the difference in floatation the 163 God places effortlessly that the 154 would take hours to get too took three rides to get used to the extra weight and length
