nope. remove cover and let her flow! clean it out and the cover and replace. put a drain pan underneath there is a drain hole in the belleypan

no need to replace the seal its good for a few changes.

check your chain and tensioner while your in there aswell as the tension itself.

Yes the tensior is just finger tight then lock nut. Buy the proper case oil from the doo dealer, and it takes the entire small 15 dollar bottle. Many guys use DexronII ATF in the cases and I doo too, but not in my XP. There is a plug on the rear of the case for level check if you want. Clean the magnets for the speedo sensor while u are in there and be very careful not to over tighten the bolts. They strip out very easy and you will have to put nuts on the back if you strip the case threads out.

The rubber oring seal works well but the bolts should be good and snug. I dont have a torque spec but they almost stop when have them tight enough. Dont tighten them too much beyond that feelng or threads will be gone. seal will doo the work.

89 Inch Pounds and I always go with 350 ml of fluid even though that overflows the level plug.

Make sure you use inch pounds I just go with hand tight with a small handled wrench. I should probably invest in an inch pound torque wrench in the future though. For the drain plug use the narrow box end wrench if you have 2 sets of wrenches, not alot of clearance for a wrench in there.

While you have it apart might as well inspect the chain, depending on the number of miles on there might replace it while its apart, a chain is a whole lot cheaper than a chain case and a chopper flight out. Top gear is 35 ft.lbs if you decide to pull the chain
