Have an '09 xp 154" stock as of right now. Gonna start the expensive process of trying to gain horse power shortly. Where should a guy start...thinking of a dynamo joe clutch kit for sure and probablly a y-pipe and pipe set up( oh yeah, already have an mbrp can) to start with. Maybe a vent kit. Suggestions from those who have gone before me and learned the way please. Thanks:beer::beer:

I would highly suggest starting with buying my VMI tunnel rack in the classifieds:d, then a clutch kit for sure, im in the same process of modding the same sled.

How much weight are you shaving off the xp with a airbox mod, better throttle response? Is the y-pipe a noticable difference. What is the price for both.

Weight from an air box mod? none, it doesn't shave weight but helps get more air into the motor to make more power. especially when in deep powder.($65 XP)

Y pipe we gained 8cfm of airflow at 8000-8300 rpm which equated to 1.5-2hp at the top and a few in the mid. doesn't sound like much but a gain is better then a loss, which we seen in testing some products. ($275 800R)

so you are not talking about the timbersled kit,pods,pre-filters and a headlight bracket.you are just drilling holes in airbox,then..Is that y-pipe ceramic coated..

We make our own air box kits, I don't care for pods,
y pipes can be ceramic coated if wanted, we get y pipes in raw form, make sure there port match to the cylinders, make sure bolts clear pipe and welds, and the flanges aren't warped. then usually paint them black.

Add in this order:

DJ clutch kit (simply tried and true)

Terra Alps 14:1 head (a nice piece of quality work)

DJ ramps (optional as your stock 441 ramps will work, i just like the feel of these better, and less clickering is needed)

Terra Alps y-pipe, but be prepared as you may need better fuel as 14:1 is right on the limit for golden/revy and adding y-pipe somehow makes it worse for detonation, one guy in our group now adds about a gallon of VP110 or so per tank full. Ted may be able to comment on why this happens when adding a y-pipe to an engine that has a head already.

Terra Alps Racing:
Hey man just wondering where I can get some air filter material? I'm talking about that meshy stuff. Will I find it at a hardware store or is it more of a specialty item?
Thanks
