I don't have one, but am looking at picking up an 09 m1000. A dealer told me that they would have to install the proper clutching( he called it low altitude clutch kit) for not to void the warranty for flat land riding.
Does this sound correct?

Or would you leave the clutching as is off the start?

they can not void your warrenty if you dont buy low altitude clutching, tell him you only ride in the mountains, its like a car dealer telling you that you have to buy this cold air intake and 3" exhaust because the car was ment to perform at sealevel not at 2200 ft what a joke, the only thing you have to change if your concerned is the weights so you dont over rev

I had a 2009 m1000 i rode it all the time on the flat and it had the same clutching right out of the box.

Sounds like you're being ripped off. Call AC and find out what they have to say about the warranty first. Cold Lake is what, about 3000ft in elevation. Revy is 1500 ft. Should you install Low Alt clutching to go ride in the mountains where you start lower than the flatlands?

i have 09 m1000 works fine in central ab. with stock clutching, can over rev. a couple hundred rpm if you hold her to the bar doesnt seem to bother any might not build as much horse at higher rpm but who really needs all of it on the flat i bought heavier weights and have never put them for me it works in the hills and flats. when in the hills we all start from the staging area and that wont void your warranty
