08 dodge 6.7 manifold heater

friends truck. he says there is an led light on the dash that when he turns the key half way it goes off after a few seconds. he noticed after he shut the truck off the other day this light was flashing almost like a security light..

is he looking at the wrong light? should there be a glow plug type symbol like other diesel trucks? his doesnt have it and was told it should and it may be burned out

Yep there is a wait to start light like with glow plugs, middle of dash between speedo and tach...

The 'red' flashing light is the alarm...

red is alarm
orange/yellow is glow

than the new ones have water in fuel sensor as well which will be red

The 06+ wait to start light does not come on unless the temps are colder, cannot remember exactly what temp though. Right around now it will likely not come on.
