i have an 07 m1000 and i love it i havent had any issues as of yet to report but the first thing you will want to do is install side vents on both your clutch and exhaust side i also changed my primary weights from 65gram(stock) to 73g you want to try to keep your max rpm around 73-7400 thats where the 1000 is happiest if you decide that is the sled you want im sure you will love it im also installing a 2 wheel kit and snow eliminators because the eliminators didnt come stock until 2008

I have an 07 with the 162' put on the SLP pipe, Vforce reeds, advanced the timing 3 degrees Dobeck tuner SLP billet aluminum air horn and RK Tek clutch kit. they clain 197 Hp. still a few bugs to work out with the mods. Be replacin' the Dobeck with a Boondocker. Some no cost rear suspention mods for better transfer.
stock was trouble free. still is but has some growin' pains with the mods. .

get on one and you will never regret it

all i can say about the belt issue some guys have been having is that maybe try the side vents to eliminate the heat that cant get out on the clutch side i know the first thing i did to mine was the side vents before i ever rode it and i am still running my original belt with 250 hard miles on it then again mybe im just lucky

Maybe you had a M10 turbo beat you on your Nytro thats why you bash the M10 so much( other postings as well). Set it up right and they rock. :bow:Blowing belts align your clutches:firefire:

I have 09 1000 slp pipe set up with 290miles on it. Haven't had any belt problems. all mountain riding. If you are comming form and older sled you will like it. was riding a king cat and had a summit for backup. No comparsom to eather. don't feel like I was beat up at the end of the day. they do throw around a little heavyer than the 800's but makes up for it if you like eatting thing out in climming. Only complate is hard on oil took it back in to shop. No They reajusted the oiling system. Ben gre:rolleyesat scence then love the sled

get you head outa you azz. All sleds today are pretty much equal in quality. Al have their growin' pains, but ot out right call the M1000 junk is just ignorant. I will pit my 07 M against anything you have. may not beat your azz. but will enjoy trying.

I have both an 09 M1000 Sno Pro 163" and a 09 XP 164" and I love the M1000. 300 miles on the M1000 with same belt. Rides as good as the XP only issue is it is a bit harder on fuel. Both are good sleds but the XP had solenoid issues first time up the hill and then minor problems with electronics. Heading out to Valemount this weekend and then that is it for my year's riding (no time). Willing to part with the M1000 next week if you are interested.

I bought my 08 M1000 153" Dec 2007 put a can on it, rode it for 800miles stored it for the summer, put screen kit on,high flow intake, rode it for 400 more miles then cleaned the clutches and noticed original belt starting to fray, changed it and put carlisle peice of s^!t on and made it 70 miles.Went back to cat belt and now just breaking 1600 miles and still rockin.Make sure it is shimmed right or else you won't pull the 7400 RPM you desire. But anyway back to the original question I would go with the 09 there 20 lbs lighter and have a few extra goodies that the 08's don't.GO GREEN.:d:beer:
