Good fun sled, but there are a few quirks. Clutching and too tight crank tolerances are a classic problem for this sled. The worst year for Skidoo in the past 10 I would say.

Stay away from the Challenger Lite track if that's what's on it, they were a trenching nightmare. Checking crank run out is an absolute must prior to sale. If sled is in good shape and crank run out is good, then they are not bad sleds IMO, just keep checking the run out every few rides and be prepared to replace it at any given time. Lots of guys have gone many many miles with no issues, my buddy only got 1600 kms before his crank went. Not bashing, just giving you the facts.

Bottom line, motors are junk! My buddy has had one since new and it's a POS! Look for an 05-06 in my opinion.

Cannot go wrong with the sled as long as the motor was updated, as most were and clutch also has been done and yes as mentioned the track was a trenching one. As long as the price is right.

I had one, it was a great sled !!

i redid and mod the engine
redid and tweaked the clutches
changed the track to 156x2.5

not sure if much was left stock lol

If you want a rev, just don't try out an XM . because you will end up buying one.

Have two, XRS and X, love them both. They're like anything else, fix the issues/ updates if for some reason not done and it'll be fine.

I had one and actually miss it some times, most have new motors in them as many pooped the bed due to the crank/bearing issue while under warranty, throw on a challenger extreme track, clutch kit and lots of fun for not that much $$. I found them very well balanced and easy to ride. XRS had great suspension, X not too bad either, just needs to be redone every couple seasons if your nit picky.

How hard of a rider is she? I'm looking at selling my 163 2.5" Mod XRS if I can get some decent $ out of it; she pulls harder than the new sleds and it's a mountain tamer. Send me a PM if interested in some details, there's a build thread hidden somewhere in the modification section about how I put it all together.

I will vote for this sled.

Seen it work last weekend again.

Amazing sled. Made me think of selling my xp and buying it.

Still am to tell the truth.
