07 M8 Engine Code

Sons 07 M8 flashed a code the other day when it was started after riding it for awhile,

4 flashes then 2

the table states a short or open circuit in the water temp sensor

any thoughts as to what or where he should be looking?

sounds like the water temp sensor failed i would replace it

I would start at the temp sensor check the plug make sure its all the way together and moisture free alittle dielectric grease works best. inspect wiring for opens or a place where it may have rubbed through. If nothing found check resistance of the sender use ohm meter and compare to manual specs
