Precise engine in Saskatoon has some weird hours. Haven’t had the luck of them being around when I try call.

54 North does not do clutch balancing.

Mots Machining in Edmonton does not do clutch balancing.

AMS does all the balancing for Mots, and for pretty much everywhere he said. Told me he balanced 3 clutches today even. Really nice guy and very knowledgeable with what he does. Pretty much admittedly didn’t know much about sled history of clutches and so forth but that’s fine, he knows how to balance. Doing it for 15 years.

Said off the top of his head $80 per clutch for balancing.

Also, bought a billet aluminum primary clutch cover, billet secondary spider and titanium goodies. I missed out on sledding last year from back surgery. I’m not missing out this year because of clutch issues. Knock on wood.

Louie and the guys are good to work with. I haven't done anything sled related there but I have had a few engines on their dyno over the years.

Anyone in BC or southern AB that is decent? Not really wanting to wait on expensive shipping and whatnot.

Guys at AMS said that the purolator truck goes there every day. And does it same day, so when you think about it, lets guess its $40 one way, so It's one day 2 days in transit, and 1 day at the shop. 3 business days later, and $160 you have a balanced clutch. Sounds like a good deal to me. I'm probably going to send in both of my clutches and just get that peace of mind.

Have you had some issues... or what’s the reason behind this work?

in ontario.
Scott wants the clutch in pieces to balance each part.
They have a small balancer you can see on their face page on the picture that scrolls. you can see the giant impeller and press left or right and see the small balancer with the tiny blower rotor on it.

I was gonna ask , does ams just balance the whole clutch as a unit ? Or pieces individually then the full unit?

No issues, and hope to keep it that way, supposedly the clutches come out of whack, and the outer cover flexes. I do NOT want to grenade my clutch, so going to take some preventive maintenance to try make sure it doesn’t.

They want it to be assembled as you’re going to use it. I’m not going to have weights in mind because I’m not sure what weights I’ll need attention. So no weights or spring.

They do balance it with the clutch facing both directions, to make sure that it is out of balance, and not just their rigging he mentioned.

Not at Xmas time. With Covid.
Just got a letter from a company in Calgary. Took 18 days express post to show up.

And from where I live it’s about $75 one way to ship. And that’s the cheapest rate.

Have any friends with a corporate Purolator account? I can typically ship through my account for less than 1/2 of what the retail price is.
