Whats everyones thoughts on Carbon fiber helmets? I'm upgrading this year and want lighter and more vents. Have a keen eye on the Klim F3.

Thanks in advance!

I have BRPs Carbon helmet, I love it. It is a bit colder than a normal helmet due to less padding to keep the weight down.
If you have the opportunity, try on different brands of helmets, some I didnt like how Uncomfortable they felt due to the padding.

I have the Klim F4 ECE and was one of the best upgrades i ever made as far as riding gear goes. Upgraded from a regular 509. Barley even feel it on your head.

Dwight is the F4 the older version and new one now the F3 seeing I cant find the F4 on Klims sight just F3 and F5. Any problems with putting a Gopro on top or side? I do like the 509s that all come with universal mounts.

We have 509's and really like them. If you can wait until the Edmonton Sled Show there is usually at least one vendor blowing out the previous year's model. Three years ago we paid $250 for a couple and bought another last year for $300, you just need to get there early on Friday if you want a good size selection.

Whoops, just noticed you're in the US, but I'm sure you can find some deals somewhere.

Never tried a go pro, i have a Contour HD camera that mounts through my google strap. I believe the F4 and F3 are the same helmets just different years.

I’m thinking about one these this year ... 1350 grams and some unique features. You can also buy there matched E-Goggles.

Ok now down to 3 contestants FXR Blade 275. / 509 Altitude 350. / Klim F5 375. and all in the carbon models negotiating the pricing. Leaning more towards the F5 with better ventilation.

No luck finding a few of the others mentioned above at WI snowshow.

Was at the sled show today.
Showed one of my riding buddies the CKX titan helmet.
I bought mine for $420 at a local deal. Along with one other rider from our group.
Should have waited for the show. Pat paid $383.00 for the same helmet today.
Not sure of the other brands but for me. That would have been worth shopping at the show to get.

I have a Soumy and an F5, the Klim is larger but the Soumy I think is lighter. Both are awesome and the F5 will be great on those heavy workout days, Soumy is a great super lite helmet. Echo Cycle in a Edmonton carries them also.

Bought a fox v3 from cycle works, for 40 percent off at the sled show yesterday. I like that the visor detaches off with magnets vs bolts. Going to be a upgrade over my ten year old hjc.

Wound up with the FXR blade 2.0 for $270 including breath box and balaclava.

i like the fidlock system on the KLIM and 509 yet trying on a jacket

and moving your head around flips that latch OPEN. Don’t wanna mess

around with that.

Really, must be just you lol

I was between the fxr blade and 509 attitude with fidlock, bought the 509 as it just seemed to fit better, and breath box was not as big and Darth Vader ish to me

The fidlock was the iceing that took it over, and I don't see it being unlatched with jacket

I bought at sled show, got sick and tired of walking and hum and ha-ing lol, 275 I paid which was a good deal
