And some guys like me pulled a 13 apart because of internet hype with 1300 hard miles and the pistons were well within spec and the cylinders were perfect. Happy with the Rkt DI kit power increase though. Engine did have plenty of good oil in them miles to.
My buddy rode a stretched Axys with a bone stock motor with under 100 miles (not broke in) and was very impressed. It was even with his good running piped, clutched, geared 2014 Pro.
I put it back on the jackshaft backwards to hold it with the brake locked, apply heat and use a good torx bit on a ratchet wrench until they break loose... Some can be really tough.
All pistons will click in the cylinder... Especially 2 stroke pistons that have a huge amount of taper built in.
Just curious cause I don't know. What exactly do you measure on a crank to determine if its bad? My 13 is well over 4000km.
Have you measured a crank at 4k? In another thread you hadn't measured your top end and were going off of which piston kit had less of an audible click noise rocking them back and forth.
Same day, same hill, same track length this is what we found.
My sled with the RKT DI kit was pulling 35-36mph.
Buds sled with kurts gear down and clutching was pulling 40-41mph on the gauge but the gear down kit makes it inaccurate.
We both switched back and forth multiple times and agreed...
Yep, you keep the stock secondary and put a different helix and spring in it.
If I remember right the gear down is $599 and the custom helix spring is around $200.
Best bang for your buck mod to a Pro Imo. Kurt's has a helix and spring that work well with it.
Never seen a 600 with one but I'm sure it would work well.
I'm curious if you have talked to BMP about having Indy Dan gusset your skirts and what they think about the extra material potentially blocking the transfer ports?
I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing... I've never experienced what you have after shutting down for 10 and starting but I've ALWAYS have let my temps stabilize before getting on it. The 129 degree power fade I'm talking about would never be noticed on a trail. When I see it it's...
I'm going to do the Doo t-stat on mine this year. I didn't believe the hype last year but paying close attention there is a loss of power beginning at 129 and by 133ish its turn out time.
I picked up 3-4 mph trackspeed with rkts drop in kit but that requires a fuel box. It out pulls my buds 14 that is geared and clutched that runs really well. Its not world changing power but it is noticeable.
