Those snow bike tracks were fun to follow into the trees. Rode there on Thursday and Saturday. We found great snow in the trees - lots of fun with the kids.
Staged at that lower Dog leg lot - was the only one doing so. Ended up at Dog Lake itself and toured around a few of those lower trails before heading up the right way. I could see that being a fun day trying to make it all the way to Silent Pass.
Had a good weekend - rode Saturday. Trail in great condition. Could do with more snow up top - probed 150 cms at base of Thunderwater. Still surprised at the number of small trees showing on that hill to climb to Thunderwater. RCMP were doing a sobriety check by the mill after the railroad...
OK - Many years ago more people staged from that lower parking lot and rode that lower trail section to 18 bridge.....haven't done that in a longtime..... might be fun. Thanks for the info - much appreciated!
Looking for recommendations for avalanche course providers that provide training for youth. I took an avalanche course many years ago, but took a break from sledding for about 10 years. Now that I am getting back into it I have 3 boys that are coming with me. Ages 15, 14 and 11. I am looking for...
Is there any new snow up top or is it going to be pounded out - just looking to play in the meadows mainly as going in with the family and a few first time sledders
2022 Dodge Ram 3500 - wondering if anyone knew if 20 inch rims and 35 inch tires would fit under there without having to lift truck? Contemplating another BDS 4 inch lift but also not really wanting to lift this one for pulling trailer. Dont really like the stock look of the rims/tires so it...
Just installed an 8KW heater inside one of my Steam trucks - works great. Used an electrical box to run lines air intake and exhaust through the floor to the outside. Should have done this years ago.
Hows the snow in the Windermere valley at the moment for sledding? Hoping to get out soon....it's been about 10 years since I have sledded and would like to plan a trip in the next week.
OK - looks like that plan may not be the best then. Are there better areas to head for and if so any details would be appreciated - especially secure locations for dropping the truck/trailer.Thx
Was hoping to get a little advice. I am planning a trip on my bike along the west coast - hauling my bike till the snow stops, unloading and riding for a week. In January - where should it be good to unload and ride from?
Could I ride from Seattle all the way down without fear of winter...
Buddy of mine just got undercut on an upcoming pipeline job - he bid the work at a 50% reduced rate from working for them last year and that wasn't good enough. Winning bid was $2200 for a 24hr rate with 12 hr shifts. for a fleet of tri drive straightvacs. All new equipment. That's less than...
