Nice to see your old car again Dan, where did it end up? I wish Ad would have told me about the old race scene out by Blackfalds, I never got to see them once. Do you have any pics of Andy's car from back in the day? I need to build a new grille if the last owner can't find the tube one...
No Andrew didn't own it anymore, he sold it to a friend in the early 90s and he had it in the corner of his garage pretty much since then. The fenderwell crushed velvet panels are still with it but are a faded out a bit.
It came with the 327 that was in it, but I've never run anything smaller than a 350. It has 4.56 gears so I might try the 327 and see what 7000 Rpms sound like :)
I picked up this car last weekend. I have wanted it since I was 14 back in 86. It has been tucked away in a shop since the mid 90s. It's a total time machine right down to the N50 14 Pro tracs on the back and the blue crushed velvet interior. I will have it up and cruising for this summer.
Thanks for the compliment. I put in a 1.6 from a 89 Tracker and thinned out the wiring harness and put the fuel injection on it too. It has 5.13 gears and a 4 to 1 t-case, with the EFI it will climb anything it can stick to. We have a all Suzuki wheeling trip in May on the last weekend. We...
Check your squish, I bet it has too much compression for pump gas and you are breaking the pistons with detonation not a lean problem. What does it test on a compression tester? those engines used a thicker base gasket, maybe you have a thin one in there now, go to the thickest one you can...
The Arctic Cat shaft is a shade bigger. I have heard of guys shimming it with aluminum from a beer can. But removing it and having it spray welded is the proper way.
I bought it for my dad for Christmas, and when he finished it he gave it to me to read. I'm about half way through it. It's pretty interesting, I feel bad for the guy going through all the stuff he did. I wish I would have been in Cow town back in the day, sounds like he would have been fun...
It could be the wrong water pump on it. The old ones turned the other way before the serpentine belts came out. But I'm thinking it's a crack in one of the cylinder heads or a head gasket. They don't always put antifreeze in the oil when they crack. Get it warm with the rad cap off and...
I don't know anything about those pipes, but I do know there were very few twin pipe sets that put out more than the stock single pipe. Most brands lost horsepower. One more thing, you may have to raise your needles as the stock pipe pulls more fuel in the midrange than your twins will. I...
It's hard to find people who stick to there word. That said I've been lucky in all my kijiji deals. I collect Suzuki Samurais and have bought close to 15 of them on kijiji in the last 3 years. My usual thing to do is to offer a few hundred more than the asking price if the deal is good enough...
Thats a nice 96.. I bought one of those 2 weeks before I picked up the 97. It had a cooked engine and I had a tough time finding one for it that didn't cost as much as I paid for the 97. So I sold it to a friend and it's getting a 583 for now. I love the look of those decal too, I didn't...
Picked it up a couple weeks ago. I did a 12hr round trip to Sask to pick it up. It hasn't been out of the yard yet but it seems to rip pretty good. The small lug long track should be good for some top end speed.
