A couple weeks ago me and a buddy went to Revy to ride Boulder. We had never been there and were looking forward to it even though I knew nothing about how to get around the area and that we were likely only gonna see a small amount of the mountain. We got a late start from Sicamous and didn't...
On a more serious note, thanks for all your efforts Momma. It's a huge commitment of time to volunteer for the job you've taken on, especially when you have loved ones.
I spoke with a representative from CBC Radio and he confirmed that the Erin Hart interview with Rebecca Zandbergen happened on Friday, as RS stated earlier. He said that the interview has been buried in their archive, which explains why myself and others have been unable to find it. He is...
There is a couple things about the whole heli-skiing scene that really pisses me off:
1) One person (Weigele) and a few of his employees make money taking people (most of these people are not even from this country) skiing in the mountains of this province while thousands of people who live in...
This is the reply from the CBC:
Hey Shane! Thanks for the note. We do indeed plan on following up. Sometimes interviews just don't all come together at once, so it's balance over time instead of back to back. Expect to hear the other side this week.
Josh
This is the letter I sent to the CBC concerning this radio show. It will probably fall on deaf ears, but if you don't try then you've already failed.
I listen to CBC Radio every day that I am working, both to and from work (1 hour each way). I have been doing this for 8 years now and usually...
I posted this in another thread and it probably wasn't the best place for it so I'm making it's own thread with an update:
I listen to CBC radio every day when I'm working cause it's the only channel I get up here on my drive to and from work. This afternoon they made a phone call to Mike...

I agree with Drifter1's comment about preferential treatment to the skiers, I listen to CBC radio every day when I'm working cause it's the only channel I get up here on my drive to and from work. This afternoon they made a phone call to Mike Weigele on one of there talk shows so we could all...
It sounds like our plants are almost identical for OT. Our highest guy was just under 1300 and anybody that wants to can get 800. This year should be a high year, it's turnaround in June with a total outage for just under a month.
What I would like to see is anybody asking for a government handout (EI or welfare)
has to pass a p!ss test first, the same as some of the citizens have to pass that test in order to work then pay
the taxes that pay for the handout. I don't want any jobs inside our borders going to someone...
gdhillon if you wanted to do the course here in BC, BCIT has 2 different programs. One is to get your 4th and the other is to get half your 2nd. I couldn't find the timeline for the courses on BCIT's website, but I think they would be similar to SAIT and NAIT. If you're interested and would...
gdhillon as others have said it is mostly plant work which usually means shift work. Power plants, gas plants, pulp and paper all those types of plants that run boilers. You start with your 4th, the easiest way in for this is to take a course that gives you the 4th when you come out otherwise if...
I look forward to the LHF comments and threads. They eliminate a lot of boring shat on here, it only takes a few words from him and it's like a massive shortage of vagisil just hit western Canada ;)!!!!!
If it's the same as BC you can write all the papers except the last one where you need either a course or hours signed off by your steam chief to write the final paper.
I just finished a tutorial for the 2nd class Thermo paper with BCIT and highly recommend them. I've never had a course for the 2nd through SAIT so can't speak to them. Sanja at BCIT is a phenomenal instructor and the course is excellent. I write on the 19th and if I pass just have the Boilers...
