I adjusted the cable for the oil pump( the adjuster is behind the muffler) a little at a time until I got about a 40:1 ratio. It took a few rides but it was worth it, I was also using quite a bit of oil. I could go to 50:1 but for me I think a little safety zone is good.
Mike Wiegele is known for being totally against snowmobiles, until a group of his skiers needs a little help getting out of the backcountry, then we are his best friend. He will use whatever means necessary to ban sleds from "his" areas. I have a freind that flew for him that finds Mike to be...
Mine is doing the same thing and I think that my injector oil adjustment is out to lunch because it is using a liter and a half per 40 liters of gas. I am going to turn it down slowly in small increments until I get it to about 40:1 unless someone has first hand experience that says otherwise.
I am just wondering if anybody knows of any sled recyclers in western Canada that you have dealt with and found to be all around "good guys" to deal with.
Yeah I checked mine too, it is still sticking out of the garbage can, with what I think could be frozen chinese food stuck to it. Thanks for the heads up though.
Just put a can on it and do the 144 or 151 conversion, when we did we also added extrovert drivers and geared down a little for the longer track. That combo put a lot of smiles on my face and ran pretty good.
In the group that I ride with we have 4 summits, an 04, 06,07 and an 08. The 04 and 06 are good on belts and clutch temps are not bad even when stock. The 07 had a few updates to the helix and rollers and since then has run quite consistent. Then there is my 08, 4 belts in the first 350 miles...
I am sure that the p85 and team set up can work well and I would run it on my xp if I had the cash. You did overlook one thing, by dropping driver size from 10 to 7 you actually create a speedo error of around 30% if your speedo cable is driven off of the driveshaft. So what used to be 27 mph...
If you ever make it out to P.G. I'm sure one of us locals could be persuaded into showing you around, maybe" I'll show you mine if you show me yours?" Where are you from and where do you ride?
