    Let's talk about gravel

Trucking has went up a fair bit, i'm paying $95/hr for tandem instead of $85/hr, the gravel itself hasn't went up much though. If you need lots truck and pup is best if you have the access for it. Tandem will haul about 12 yards, depending on how many axles on pup will haul anywhere from 10-25...

You're way nicer then I am. I would have laughed as I drove by. It's one thing if something out of your control happens, but driving absolutely stupid you get what you deserve.

    DeWalt Power Tools

True those are all factors, I have between 3-5 amp batteries. But you can feel the torque difference, I can hold the dewalt all day with one hand and it doesn't matter how hard it grabs it's nothing to hold, a 1" impact rated for 2000ft lbs if you don't have 2 hands on it solid it's getting away...

    DeWalt Power Tools

Mine isn't that version, I think it's 750 version, know it's at least 500 but they never put out near what they say. At even 500 it should bust semi lug nuts, it doesn't have a hope in hell, i'd had it not be able to take off skidsteer lug nuts that I can take off with a 2' bar. Just like the...

    Humorous picture thread

Said for years leafs will never go anywhere with their core, they are too soft focusing on wanting to score pretty goals and don't have the grit for the playoffs. Look at nylander, dumps the puck in and is too scared to chase it because he might get hit, absolutely pathetic unless he was...

    DeWalt Power Tools

IMO that size impact in air is just obsolete, the cordless one's are great. I would say my 1/2" dewalt is good for like 300ftlbs. Unless it's a 1" impact air is just way too much hassle. The cordless "say" they are good for things like 1500ftlbs but they aren't even close, still need air for...

Will gas prices put the brakes on road trips?

My pickup burns nothing for fuel, and going 100 instead of 120-125 is like pissing in a river. In the summer I burn around 3000L a month for my business, saving even 50L a month in my pickup isn't worth it, my time is far more valuable then that. Although I was surprised last week on QE2 doing...

    Central Air ( AC)

I've found you really only need one in the bedroom, other then that depending on the house it's not bad. There's not many days in a year here where you really need it.

That is a nice return. There isn't anything like that for Canadians?

    Stocks to watch

Oh yea not there. But in Alberta it's going to drop for sure pretty quick. Inventory for resale has jumped a ton, although a lot of it is idiots thinking they can list for really stupid prices, asking $1m for a $800k at best house stupid chit like that. There is so much building going on people...

    Stocks to watch

Depends on what it is. Housing will drop back down, interest rates are going to kill demand pretty soon here.

    Stocks to watch

Yes and no, depends how much things drop back in price once things get back to normal. Things can't continue to go up in price much more, too many just won't be able to afford it.

    Stocks to watch

I have cash available now to invest but the way things are it scares the fawk out of me. I'm not in it for the long term, I would want to cash out next spring-summer. I wonder if i'm better off investing elsewhere right now? The market seems crazy. Maybe take $1k and get a feel for things and...

    Identity theft?

You mean the law? Wow are you dense. I'm the furthest thing from a lefty. The law is the law. It doesn't care about someone's feelings.

    Identity theft?

You should re-read what he wrote at no point did he say he ever claimed to be that person he started an email address with the name, BIG difference it's an ASSUMPTION he was trying to pose as him. If someone makes an email bobjoe@gmail.com and someone named bob joe goes like you are "omg it's...

    Identity theft?

You can't be serious, of course it's not identity theft. You do realize you don't own the rights to your name and that in most cases more then 1 person has exactly the same name? Nowhere did he say the guy was pretending to be him in the email, only using the same name. What you are proposing IS...

    Building a garage-shop , need help

Depending how late you start and if hiring it all out and how fast they are. Could easily start early september and have it all done on the outside before winter hits or any extra costs from it.

    Building a garage-shop , need help

I think right now some guys are so busy they will just throw crazy numbers out on some jobs knowing they can't do them all and see if some go for it. If you can i'd really consider waiting a few months, I bet come fall things will slow down a ton and prices are going to drop.

Anyone else having troubles finding Shell Rotella 15/40 ???

Yea there is very few brands who actually make oil, most of the stuff like canadian tire, wal mart branded, etc are just made by a big supplier. For older engines as long as it meets the rating i'd run it. I run CT brand hydraulic oil in my mini hoe, it leaks a bit so i'm not buying the $200 a...

Anyone else having troubles finding Shell Rotella 15/40 ???

The irony about the "shortage" is because everyone is worried about being able to get it they are stocking up which would cause a shortage at the best of times. Having said that, I stocked up with 6 pails last summer when it was like $60 a pail, very glad I did.
