The transfer of disease in winter would be nearly zero! And typically one area of farming is suspect to disease not from 40 acre plot to another! If your talking summer fun and atvs then I could see it. In respect to damage to hay crops and under seeding the snow cover would have to be minimal...
This so called farmer is a complete idiot end of story! In the area where I live(yes on and around farmers) we are getting a influx of people moving in from the cities and other countries etc! What these people don't understand is that the families that originally settled in this area mostly...
The old fan cooled machines would do it quite abit. Most early fans were high compression and everyone on the farm had a tank of purple farm fuel. No one ever told them that hi test was a must after they started lowering octane in fuel. Also the fans would spit a fan belt and boom just the...
Very impressive! We just had a discussion in chat area about the seemingly low durability if engines these days. Your doing a good job of proving me wrong!!! Good job!
Maybe but tell that to the 4 guys who have their engines in my shop? And why did the old rotary engines last longer? I had a modded 600 triple that had 5800 km when I sold it and last I talked to guy it was still runnin? That was mountain sled and probly made around 130-140hp? Seems a little...
Engine Basics: Detonation and Pre-Ignition by Allen W. Cline Wrong go here! Detonation is what happened! And yes the audio part should go the other way!
In auto engines pre ignition is caused from excessive detonation in which the uncontrollable flame front develops a hotspot on piston which in turn ignites the incoming charge before plug. Detonation can not be heard in auto engine however pre-ignition can usual be heard as a pinging sound.
We are talking mountains here! And yes it's more strain for sure but the old mountain motors were better! Granted not 155 hp either. I beleive the oems could do better. The etec seems to be headed the right direction so we will see in a few years. 3000km is not long life riding anywhere in my...
Did your buddies sled work? I've heard mixed reviews on this. I think the biggest issue was running without airbox! I talked with Chris Bondi and he says airbox is a must. More consistent jetting and with all those pipes under hood temps are high.
I really get heated over this debate as all triples came in the heavy and low slung f chassis and heavier ck3! There was a few that adapted them to the s chassis that worked decent. I just seen a 925 triple wedged in ol poo chassis the other day that was a light weight 163 mod. He also has a 880...
Ahhhh Maxwell I knew that would fire you up! But it's a known fact smaller holes and lots of them is the way to effiecent power. I think it's closer than we think.
I rebuild engines for buddies and we have never seen a rash of failures like right now! Most sleds have around the 2500- 3000km.I can usually get more life out of mine as im the guy who fixes them and know the weak spots. That being said most of these sleds are run by competent operators so the...
