Yeah - totally agree on the guy in the truck makes or breaks ya - we are owner operator group so no worries there.
I have seen some crazy over the top fancy units but at the end of the day a steamer is a steamer and can't charge big rates - little hard to justify large build cost. I saw one on...
Well - looking to build a Steamer unit over the summer and wondering if anyone has undertaken that project before?
I would be interested in getting ideas of cost to build vs buying used set up. Would like to find a used van body and build a system inside. Also really interested on ideas to set...
Ok - bit of a long shot but does anyone know the name and ph number of a Bell Sat installer in Wabasca, AB? I called down to Sniper in Slave Lake and they mentioned there is a fellow in Wabasca but did not know his name. I have tried all the conventional means to find this guys but no luck...
So I picked up a 20ft sea can today and found out that you can buy R12 foam filled galvanized panels that are fitted with C channel for easy install. Here is a pic of what is possible. Not cheap at $3500 approx but save time and looks good.
If I end up going with it I will try and post some...
I have looked at a few 40 feet cans on the web and really liked one that was 28 feet shop heated and then 12 unheated next to the double door end. Partition wall just had an exterior door in the middle. Pretty simple but makes lots of sense.
Anyone know of any good deals on 20 or 40 foot...
Yeah - I was thinking spray foam would be the way to go. I have used some of those touch n seal DIY kits from Lowes and they work pretty good. Then just run power in conduit/lights. Just wondered how people were framing without drilling through the skin.
We have a new site where there is a...
Was wondering if anyone has ever insulated a sea can to use for a heated tool crib/ shop? I know you can buy them but has anyone done a diy project themselves?
Looking at doing this for a winter project up north but would appreciate some advice. How do you secure the framing to the walls etc...
Just giving this old thread a bump - anyone know a good contact for logging truck loads of Birch or Tamarack delivered. I am in the Sherwood Park location.
Thanks......Al
Do you really need a dually to pull the tri axle? I asked the sales rep that at Woody's and he said my 2011 Ford F350 would pull it just fine.
Echo your comments on the family. We are also looking not really as a toy hauler - just seems to work best for our family. Have you priced out in the...
Re: i cant beleive this!!!
It has been a really difficult day for the employees of REAS/Tiger. One of our employees was killed in an automobile accident this morning in Edmonton and now this. It will be a difficult day tomorrow.
Re: i cant beleive this!!!
I work with REAS and we operate from Slave Lake with our parent company Tiger Calcium..in Mitsue. A number of our employees have lost there homes and our plant in Mitsue was very close to being burnt down before the wind changed and the fire started heading towards...
My story with these guys - waste of taxpayers money!!!

No problems - lots of power. Good throttle response etc.
The only thing I don't like is the shift into 4x4 - quite a racket. I came from a Dodge and that was smoother.
Can you get a snow screen filter for the airbox. Remember running those on my KN pods on my sled.
OK - have a 2011 Ford diesel with about 13,000kms on it. I have had this happen twice now - the airfilter is packed full of snow and the check engine light comes on. I do not bury my truck in snowbanks so how is this happening. Lot of highway driving and parked out side and plugged in at night...
Thank you for posting. Great to see what is being done in Romania. We have it so good here in Canada and often we forget that. Great work you are doing. It would be a very different world if everyone could experience the same.
