Do your top end sooner than later, my engine ran like a top right till it blew up, compresion was good was pulling 8150 all day.i was less than 1km from the truck after a long mountain ride when it went no warning, deto light came on and it sounded like metal on metal, I'm just lucky my crank...
Just over 2000 km's and broke a skirt... Wtf. One month off warranty. At least I got some good footage on the gopro before it went lol! Oh ya and I bent an a arm... It was an expensive day.
Let's not turn this thread into a negative rant please. I am impressed with my pro and have enjoyed it alot! Best sled I've owned by far! Just curious if there is anyone with some insight for 2014. It's exciting to think what the pro is capable of with a 160 hp + Powerplant! I agree that there...
Is it to early to ask if anyone knows anything about the 2014 pro 800 engine? I heard that Polaris may come out with a direct injection engine?! Anyone?
Yes the groomer would be nice, the trail is getting really bad, is it possible to retrofit a wiper motor somehow? 600 dollars sounds a little steep!? Is it 12 or 24 volts? When you get past the large whoops on the trail, the snow up top is unreal deep pow!
Could be coil bind in your primary, I've seen this before. Look at the spring seat, is it digging into clutch? Not a bad idea to slightly radius the sharp edges on your spring ends. How are your weight bushings?
Went up the Torpy today, still not much snow up the burn, not too icy for the most part. Three feet at the top and no base, still lots of "landmines". Was still a fun ride. It was snowing hard at the end of the day.
The clutches have an effective range of travel and effeciency that needs to be matched to the powerband of the engine. Early engagement on a mountain sled in mountain conditions has the potential to load up the engine and clutches at a low rpm where power is not at an optimal level.
Not a bad idea to run some oil in fuel and turn up the oiler as well, these engines are a little lean from the factory in order to pass emission requirements.
