I bought my motocross helmet from General Auto in Lamont for under $200. (I think it was under, long time ago). And would never consider going back to a full faced. The motocross helmet is light and easy to breath, but can be a bit cold on those frosty mornings. I have a good balaclava and...

I have about 5K on my silent armor. On the plus side they are quiet and have awesome traction (in mud and snow) on the negative side, they are not great on ice. Although I have seen worse! As for the price you seem to be on the mark, I paid $300/ tire installed. I like em'.:)

My wife likes trail riding, and is not an aggresive powder rider. She doesn't like riding my 02' summit, but liked the stability of the cat. Keep in mind she is not an expert rider. Hope this helps, good luck!
