We were up in McBride on Tuesday and Wednesday. Rode Belle the first day as a test and tune day. Very low snow conditions. Would not recommend heading up if you're travelling very far. I know the fella's that dropped down to Spirit Lake. They said they found some good snow, but spent 3...
Had Boydo polish my tunnel last weekend. Super good guy, did it on short notice, and looks like a mirror. Spent more time BS'n than we should have, but will be taking the wifes to him after Christmas. EXCELLENT WORK!!!!:beer:
In your pictures, it looks like the weld-on tag / serial number is visible on your "Y" pipe. If it's the same as a 1000, you have your "Y" pipe upside down. Know this from experience...pipe was just touching the hood. Took it all apart and switched it, now lots of clearance. The little notch...
It's been about 8-10 years since I last rode at Belle, and can't remember how long the trail is from parking lot to the cabin. Young fella has a 120, and wants to come to the mountains over Christmas break, just want to make sure he can get up there with his sled.
Thanks
Just use a 1/4" bit on your drill and clean up the burr's that the split pin leaves in it's hole. Takes about 5 seconds, and the roller pins litterly fall out.
Thanks for the info guys, also wondering about belt deflection. In all the old style secondaries, you usually ran the belt flush or about an 1/8" above the top of the sheaves, but not sure on this setup. I read that you should have about 1 1/4" if you measure with a straight edge between the...
I have the Power Commander 5 on my 09 M1000. I got the map directly from
SLP. I have it saved on my laptop and can email it to you if you PM your contact info. Haven't gotten it to the hills yet, but will let you know. Trying to get out there this weekend.
Just wondering if anyone's using the Cutler torsional setup on their secondary. Looking for setup idea's, where your running the spring for tension and what helix are you using. I have this setup for an 09 M1000, c/w full SLP setup, V-force reeds, intake, and adjustable weights in primary...
Seen a 09 M1000 153 SP in Grande Prairie yesterday, if I remember correctly $10600.00. They said they have some in 162 also, but not on showroom floor.
I just had my entire rear skid parts powdercoated. The nice orange was flaking off the black powdercoat underneath. The guys at the shop in Red Deer used a chemical treatment to remove the old powdercoat, then applied the new stuff. Turned out awesome. Try Metal Strip and Coating in Red...
This is an awesome post. Now if some one could show us the trick to install a set of V-Force reeds so that we don't have to remove / install the throttle body's and air boot about 3 times. Someone has had to figured out an easy way to do...
A buddy of mine had his completely protected by Line X in Red Deer. Did the floor, and about 4' up the walls. It seals it great so the water runs out, and the skags don't seem to really hurt it. Not too sure on price though.
I had stuff done at Metal Strip & Coatings in Red Deer. High quality work, finished when promised, and a little cheaper than quoted. Would definately recommend them - good guys.:d:beer:
Just wondering who makes a vent kit you can install on the dash either side of the gauges where the warning decals are on the M series sleds. Might be a good place to put them. I'm sure I've seen them in photo's on here, but can't find anyone who sells them.
Thanks.;)
I had a helmut painted @ Joey's Place a few years back. It cost around $400, and it took about 3 months to get it done. They do amazing work on vehicles, but not very impressed with the helmut. Has runs, finger prints etc. Wasn't impressed, but when you drop off your $700 Shoei, you pay what...
Not trying to ruffle feathers here guys, just my honest opinion. I had similar "MODS" to my last sled, and went with the cheap stuff 87 because that's what the book says. In my gut I was thinking I should have better, but was told different. Well when the engine seized due to a broken ring...
Just a comment from personal experience. If you see your sled on the end of the sky hook, you'll soon realize that the race fuel you should have had in the tank looks pretty inexpensive really quickly.............:eek::eek::eek::eek:
Think about this guys. When you pull up to the pumps, there is one hose for all 3 grades of fuel available. You press the GOLD button, but how much BRONZE has to come out of the lines from the tanks to the pumps before the GOLD gets there. Maybe if you're the 3rd sled to get filled, you wind...
