I purchaced a Tracker DTS at the Edmonton sled show 2011. I used it all of last year, I tested it at times and found it not too hard to use. In town we just took the classroom from Zactracks. Now all my buddies are selling their Trackers and buying new ones (Pieps). Wondering if I should get a...
If you can buy new I got one at Sears for 750 bucks. Used it twice this year. We have over a foot of snow already. I have purchased used snowblowers before and got screwed ever time. New is the way to go.
I am a LD mechanic and love it. I have been in the trade for 36 years. I have learned all I can and I have not stopped learning. It is all mechanics, Learn as much as you can and enjoy it or don't do it. As a LD mechanic in the right place you will do well in the money dept.
I have thought of going to a 3/4 ton for pulling sleds and holiday trailer. I looked hard to find what I wanted. I found nothing I liked for power and ride. The sales guy at Browns GM in Dawson Creek sold me a Chev 1500 with a 6.2L gas and a 6 speed trans. I got the 3:42 diffs. The truck is the...
YES!!! Check for a centering ring....the aftermarket rim will not fit tight on the axle center ring, We supply a plastic ring. This ring will help carry the load to the truck axle, Not the studs carrying the load and breaking. Your wheel torque should be 140lbs. Check with your dealer..
I do not like coming onto a vehicle with HID lights. I will flash back HID users blind me I blind you, And your lights don't respond fast enough to flash back. (sorry) Most guys dont do the research on these lights. I have talked to a expert on lighting and I was told that the HID lights will...
If the oil is coming out the dipstick tube you have a ring problem. Wash off the engine, Them check where the oil is coming from. If the rings are weak compression will build up inside the crankcase and try to get out anywhere it can......dipstick. I have been a mechanic for only 35 years. Good...
Do you need a 2500 truck? I have a 1500 Chevy 4wd with a 6.2L . The fuel cost is great 13.5L per 100km @ 125kmh. It pulls my 9300lb trailer and I get 22.5l per 100km. If you don't need a 3/4 ton truck don't have one. This truck pulls like a freight train. My buddy has a Ford 2500 with a 6.2L its...
If you go to a lift of any sort. Check what balljoints are in the control arms. I do alignments and front end work for a living. I have changed upper balljoints in the cognito control arms use a heavy half ton balljoints 7700lb. The procomp lifts use a 1990 GM halfton 2wd control arms 7000lb or...

I have a 2010 Chev 1500 4wd with a 6.2L 6sp trans and 3:42 rear gears. The truck works very well, But I would like a bit more power. At the drag races here in Fort St John the same truck ran a 14.3 in the 1/4 mile. I get 13.5L per 100km on the hiway. I had a EFI Live on my last truck a 5.3L it...
If you only pull a small time of the year. Why have a big diesel truck banging around. I looked at them all and went to a new Chevy Silverado 1500 4wd with a 6.2l 403 hp and 420lbs torque. I pull a 24ft Cougar hoilday trailer 9300lbs. I also have a sled trailer instead of a deck. I just came...
I have done lots of these. I go just snug NOT TIGHT!! Go to the loose side of the lock nut if you cant line the slot up in order to put the lock pin in. When puting in the oil seal use the correct seal driver or the seal will leak.
