Fuel gauge only reads 1/2 full

If you slide the float to the top does the gauge read half full or full? Is the float sticking halfway? Sometimes the twisted metal part of the metal slide mechanism can have a spot that the float will stick. This is usually because there is a bit too much twist in one zone for the float to...

    Surgery was a success

Hahaa! They didn't give me a card! Now I feel left out! :p Seriously though, I had my surgeon remove as much hardware as possible after a few months of healing. Felt a lot better after they took all the bolts and screws out and now I do not set off the metal detector as much. :) How about...

Exhaust valves Ti or S.S. 800 poo

What did you find out? I have both sets but have been running the Ti ones in my sleds. Why did you switch to SS? Didn't thay make some out of Al also?

    02 800 xc sp cdi

I was told a few years ago to not run my 600 CDI box on my 700 because they run a different advance curve and it could damage the 700. They all run different settings from what I have found out.

RMK 700---> Amsoil Interceptor 2 cycle?

Just don't run it at 100 to 1. I am not totally sold on synthetic oils for 2 strokes. After a few seasons running it in one engine I tore the engine down for rebuilding it. The engine had a tinge of rust over the entire rotating assembly. I do not believe that some sythetic oils rust proof in...

    Surgery was a success

Now you can set off the metal detectors at the airports! BTDT! Tell them you are bionic! Take it easy while you heal up. Hopefully in a few months you will be back to normal!

    surgey tomorrow

I hope that your sugery went well. Hopefully you are not in too much pain. Take your meds and try to get some quaility sleep. Good luck with your recovery!

    headlite

Check your ground wires and connections to your lights and switches. The voltage regulator may also be causing the problem so check it to make sure it is grounded properly and the connections are tight. It could be other stuff also, but I would start by checking the grounds and connections.

    Makeover!

Great to hear that she went beyond your expectations! Does Neil tune the machine while it is on the dyno to get those numbers or will you still have to test and tune quite a bit out in the hills? Can't wait to see some videos of your new sled also! Good luck with your ride! :wtg:

    collar bone

Did the doctors pin your collar bone? I hope that they fixed you up as that bone can be a problem if it does not set correctly. I know how tempting sledding and other sports can be but your long term health will suffer if you do not let it heal. The bone needs at least 6 weeks of traction and...

    Makeover!

Did you build it for a wide torque band or just high hp? Either way I am sure you did your homework and it will deliver your goals. Good luck with your new creation!

    collar bone

That sounds terrible. Make sure you are careful so it heals properly. Did you have to have surgery? Sometimes they heal all crooked and can cause you a lot of grief later in life. Do what ever you can so it stays straight and give it time to fully heal up. At least you are young so that should...

    Makeover!

That is a wicked buildup! I bet she crackles really nice! Are you going to get your nice new pipes coated? When are going to get her out on some snow? Good luck with your sled!

    98 polaris 700 tuning

I ran ours with stock 700 gearing, 10-62 praire, 10-60 mountain, 160 jets mountain, 180 jets praire, 2 sizes lower on secondary jets, needle set 2nd clip from top with me riding (leaner), bottom setting for my wife (richer). The engine would run a bit lean and thus hot if you are not opening it...

    exhaust valve caps

I have not heard of that situation but I have had the valves stick shut sometimes. It usually happens if I am going slow on the way up from a staging area to the alpine. Not able to run the engine hard enough to keep everything running clean. As soon as I opened it up in some deep pow the valves...

    Snowbunje (Rattler)

I have the hand held model and it sure saves a guy's back! I have used the sled to sled model also and it was excellent for retrieving dead sleds. If you did it just right you could snap a dead sled right up the ramp onto a sled trailer with ease. Very good products IMO!

    Duramax Batteries

I would get some new batteries and see how it starts. It may still need new glow plugs if they are worn out. I do not even know if they run glow plugs but I have changed them in a few other diesel engines that I have owned and it fixed the cold start problems. They burn out...think if it like a...

    overheatin chevy

That is one thing that I thought might be the problem. Also he could have a blockage in the coolant system. I have seen the bottom part of a rad cap come off and it will float around the system causing over heating problems depending on what ports it blocks coolant flow. I have seen this happen...

    Avgas

I agree that you can run more power with some VP fuels, but by running slightly less power AV gas will work very well in many machines, in many different combinations. What mix did you use to make 110 octane fuel? I like to bring fuel for our toys with us but sometimes we stay longer and run...

How I spent the last 7 months.

Very nice sled! What does she weigh in at? Can you post some details of your buildup? I bet you can't wait to test it out! Good luck with your new machine!
