Just wanted to put out a big congratulations to Denise and her hardworking staff at McBride Mountain Sports. It's going to be great to have a place in town to go to to get outdoor gear and rentals year-round :) Good luck with the grand opening this weekend and we wish you all much success in...
You mean Dean hasn't told you about the truck we got in Oct.??? '08 Titan with 6"lift.....we've had the f350 for sale since.......in ICBC hands now-miss it already :(
Si si....this happened Sunday night, but there's been no change in the weather conditions since, blowy and snowy........we're alright (just one of the kids and I) it happened so close to home-maybe 10 klicks- but ended up having everyone who helped us stay overnight here at the house; somewhat...
Road has been the s***s for a few days now....was coming back from Edmonton and rolled the truck just a few clicks from home BAD visiblity-turned out that all our keys for our sleds were in one of the doors (long story)....have found a couple....any advice as to hotwire sleds welcome
Sorry, I missed the class on abbreviations!!! what does FWIW mean??
I think a lot of us are feeling the same...being involved at the beginning of the digging would have meant a lot, even in spirit for christ's sake, communication is key as we all know-from both ends.....
cheers to everyone this...
Can't help but think that something in the article has been taken out of context for example 2 horses one of which is 3 years old and claiming to have spent $30,000 (on two) not sure what gives, but whatever, the horses are out and that's what's important. I think this fellow has been bashed...
I wanted to say a big thanks to Birgit for her fantastic article and editorial this past week in The Valley Sentinel-our local paper out of Valemount. Great job!:)
Not sure where you're getting the three horses from-I think it's his own saddle horse that he had (and came out with) and Sundance and Belle were packing for him and were left up there.
The CTV article seems like something is missing, can't put my finger on it.....
Hear, hear Haggis.....this tragedy in Sparwood has deeply affected everyone and these families need our help. These were young men in their prime looking toward the future, I don't believe for a second that anyone of them would have wanted to give their lives so early and not witness their...
Heartfelt condolences from our family to everyone in Sparwood. The sudden and unexpected loss of loved ones is the hardest loss of all. Good job to all the search and rescue personnel involved.
Just wanted to add a note on here about road conditions and a gentle reminder to drive safe. While driving back from Calgary on Sunday night, I ended up stuck in Jasper for 6 hours with the kids. Sadly, there had been a fatal collision close to Mt Robson that claimed the life of two people...
Dear Apex Mtn,
No, this is certainly not where I expected this thread to go 2 weeks ago, but regardless, the horses are out and that's really all I and everybody involved really cared about.
As far as I'm concerned, there's two sides to every story-EVERY and ANY story! Let's keep the facts...
Just wanted to add that this article is probably the best and most accurate article that we've read on this! Kudos to the author! Also, the comments left are great and brought great laughs (and happy tears from some). Again, fantastic article!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas day!
Hoping everyone has caught up on their sleep, warmed up and nursing their frostbite; Dean for one will be leaving back to work soon with some interesting looking wounds ;)To speculate about the hows and why's of this wasn't going to do any good-the most important thing was getting the horses out...
