Four stroke turbos are beasts until you're stuck. Especially if the snow is heavy and wet. Better have strong young buddies. My friend is by far the best rider out of 6 of us and he runs 240 hp on his m1100 t, 162... But we still have to pull him out for 20-30 min each time because it just...
Just rolling through Edmonton from fort Mac! Be there until Sunday, hope the snow is good!
Going to drive until I can't anymore, the boys always stop off at Edmonton. Probably make Hinton the stop tonight since I worked until 6 haha.
Check the grooming schedule the trail up would be my deciding factor after a weekend.
Clemina is usually our first stop due to how close it is, about 12-17k up I think but this area has bouncing runs and trees along the trail up.
I would say Allen creek but to get the good riding in that area...
My close friend dropped his off a 8 foot cliff in the trees last night coming out of oasis. No tether and it pinned him under the tunnel. Rev'd out until a plume of smoke came out thought for sure the engine was seized. Towed him out, checked it over the next day just to be sure.
Turned out...
I highly recommend buying the proper tool.
I managed to make regular snap ring pliers work but I ground off the small nipples and used the base of that as a opening point as its more square.
And instead of removing them horizontally, I had to balance the pliers vertically and it finally...
Check out Kmod skid I highly recommend them. Also give them a call they'll explain to you why and how it helps.
They also sell a "upgrade" kit if you don't want to shell out for the full skid or rails.
They have a few YouTube videos also explaining. Hope this helps.
Wow I'm a boarder turned sled head... So I can say without a doubt I will be getting in to this while I'm down there next. What's the website or info ill need to be a part of this amazing accomplishment?
I've only been to the mountains 4 times. One including the rental I took up in April on my first trip that got me hooked.
We rode Clemina then Allen before the groomers were going last week... Oasis the rest of the week. I'm back to work tomorrow and ill hopefully be going through some of my...
Yeah haha, thankful for the axe I bought just before coming. Best 30 dollars I've ever spent.
Reminder, keep your head up when I'm chopping down a tree for my buddy!
Edit: This is the first small tree cut down in the first post. Good thing the kid was young and had fast reflexes!
Few more
First day I tried to turn around a tree and smoked the a-arms into it.
Second day I took a little drop and was on the throttle too much maybe and she smashed me into the steering post.
Needless to say it hurt considering I bent the steel post all the way forward and went over the...
Wow, my first time in was last week. Must say I'm hooked and we didn't even go back that far.
There's a few of us beating up that trail.
And a bit of the aftermath to my sled and done poor tree's :P
What were they riding by chance did you notice? How was that little trench after the cut block turn. On our way out I took my shovel and tried to fill it in a bit...
Moved a few trees and we made that spot to turn around up instead of making that sharp right.
Ya that was my buddies and I, since Tuesday we had been in there. I posted earlier about that one trench just after the cut block turn...
Took us 4 hours to get up through he had only been there once but we did well getting in I thought. Some people came in Friday behind us and kind of tore...
Actually that one has been trenches since we got there. Just been going past it and turning around and taking a nice slow left through there... It's about 20 feet past that turn right where you have to climb someone put like a 4 foot trench in there right in the middle of the trail. We saw it...
Been riding oasis all week since Monday... Trail up is perfect we packed it great until another group came up behind us today and made a bad trench in a terrible spot we saw as we were coming out.
Haven't packed over the ridge to any other bowls except the first one too dangerous and socked in...
Trail in to Allen is unbelievably bad and long, Allen had done nice big long ice spots but was well worth it today! Morning was near no visibility. Once we got out of the trees and back up to the cabin it cleared up and was crazy. Thanks to the guys who brought up some fire wood made the day...
We rode Clemina for half the day pretty decent in the trees. But they didn't even groom that trail and it's super rough. Almost not worth coming down... Thinking of hitting Allen tomorrow because its a few km shorter than Clemina.
Chapel is super rough even mid season... But we may ride there...
