I'm a Poo guy all the way. Poo I believe has a winner in weight and chassis. Engine max HP is not meeting the competition. Therefore the way I see it Polaris makes a very good machine that will likely handle better than anything out there but imagine what Poo would have if they had a 160+ hp...
Polaris does not want SLP to specify HP as their HP numbers are poor in comparison.
The way I see it. You buy a new 800. Pay $1000 more to get parts to bring the HP up to meet the competition (or at least get closer). All this extra cash because Polaris messed up their engines the last 2 years...
I hope you are right on this. I want to see final HP numbers before I buy. I have heard the same info from our local Polaris dealer but whether or not Polaris is producing 160+ hp engines in production machines is yet to be confirmed. Keep us informed of proof please.
Better check out the new ford diesel tests by a 3rd party testers (unbiased evaluations, not Ford).
The new 2011 Ford technology just trumped them all (especially the Dodge). Time will tell if the new Ford Diesel is as good as the tests indicate it is. Duramax and Cummins better head to the...
I have the Atacc on my 2002 800 rmk. Jetted for 1600 ft elevation base line. I have ridden to about 9500 ft at West Yellowstone. No issues and I have done this 3 times in 3 years. What is nice is that it adjusts to temp and elevation so when the day warms up at 1600 ft it leans out to keep the...
Can't tell for sure but looks to be the same length to me.
Remember Polaris's engine will be about 145 Hp as comparied to the Doos 160+.
I am dissapointed in the Hp this year but Polaris is targeting engine reliability and sled performance. Imagine what they would have if the engine was putting...
When you don't have something to brag about you say nothing. Bad sign. Polaris I think is targeting a reliable 800,not making the claims(lies) again about the HP as they know their 800 is 20+ ponies behind the pack. I am a Polaris die hard and very dissapointed in the weak engine hp. May have a...
Recommend you order the Polaris deep snow manual for this machine. I have one and it has everything you can imagine in it. Well worth the cash to have.
I hope what I read about the hp of this engine is not realistic. Dynoed at 144 hp. Not sure if this engine was still in break in mode or not. I would like to buy a new 800 this year but if the HP is not at least 150 then forget it. Doo and Cat have much stonger engines if this is the case. My...
New Polaris 800 RMK 155 weight is 431 lbs :d
160 hp and gorgeous. Power to weight ratio anyone. Would love to see Doo advertise this ratio as they used to now. :p
Chassis technology in this sled is far above anything on the market.
The 800 reliabilty issues are history this year. So....What...
I would think that a smart talented guy like Burandt would not jump ship for money alone. If the product he will represent is not top notch I would not think he would represent a dud product. Give the man credit. Money is not everything unless your values in life are messed up. Think about.
I have the same machine. 2002 800 x 151. I installed Sly Dog powder hound skis. 7" wide and longer than stock sidehiller skis. These work great in powder and great in all other conditions such as trail riding on hard pack, etc. No darting. Worth the money in my opinion. Also installed a Slp...
The only reason this bearing should fail is lack of lube. The bearing is subject to alot of moisture and should be lubed at least every 1000 miles. Pump lots of grease in to remove moisture. Most peoples problems with bearings is that they fail to realize the maintenance required. Ride till she...
