Welcome, i love it out there. i jealous of the riding you get to do even though i also have fantastic riding here. In 1999 or 2000 i drove my new truck down the old rail line and over some huge curving trestles, it was incredible, i know some have been burnt and most closed down, but i'm sure...
Normally they will not bother you around here, BUT a huge difference on a long weekend in the summer season. At those times they most often have a zero tolerance policy.
I'm thinking about selling my MAX Outty 800 LTD if you have any interest, might go to the 2nd generation model 1000 ?? Spent about 20,000 on it, have close to 5000km, probably be asking 9000 if i deciede to let her go.
If we camp at Saunders, it's a real easy day ride to nordegg and up Baldy and back to camp with time to spare (i would think that part is the most scenic and in the best condition). Wouldn't want to do it on a long weekend though, too much strict enforcement out there for riding in the ditch...
There will be alot of folks wanting to do this, might need to do it a few times to get everyone.
The bridges in the Harlech area have not been repaired, so that northside section may be too much.
Logging west of Baker road has changed things a bit. A few areas have been chewed/ripped up from...
srxdude does have a point, no OHV's allowed in and area....UNTIL there is maintaince & summer repairs to do, i doubt you will carry all the eqiuptment & supplies in on your back, ALL machines WITH tracks should be ok and considered a snow machine, as long as they have tracks what is the...
I'm pretty sure he is asking about quading spots, and you might be talking sledding trails ? I would assume was hoping much closer to city than some of those spots, however they do have good riding summer or winter.
You are right it is called Baker road (and i always call it Jackfish road as well), that new logging cut block area even gets me a bit confused. From there it is a bit dificult to explain, there are 2 options, maybe 3 options. Best would be to join in on a ride when a group does it, or if you...
Yes these are a fantastic tire as well, but i would think they are a little better suited for a sxs as they could be a little bit rough and bumpy on harder packed trails etc.
Double check the actual height of the tires you choose, lots of tires that say a size on them (lets say 28") may actually only measure out to be 26" or 27" after mounting etc.
Fully stock clutch set up with 5000 km on it ,just don't use high range when mudding or in the hills etc. and never try to tow in reverse. ITP are ok but have found the Mudlites are somewhat weak and have leaking issues sometimes.
28" Zillas would work out very well for the mix of mudding & trails, or you could look at the Bighorns or Blackwaters they are also great all around tires. I use the Bighorns and love them, but in thick sticky mud they will gum up.
