I'm gonna combine most of it just to process what straw is left. Gonna cut some of my dad's for feed though cause it has more standing and he needs to try to get more value out of it since he wasn't as well insured as me.
Got hailed out Friday. Gonna make more on insurance than I would have if I could have harvested it lol. Hutts had 7000 acres hailed out and no insurance.
Thanks for the advice. I might tow it home and then watch kijiji for a nicer one that needs a transmission or something. Not sure if I even need a diesel anymore anyways.
Same here. We lost a fair bit of rented land this year and I am glad. Been seeding close to 20 days and have had one full day so far. Have had breakdowns every other day. Soil is so dry the drill can barely punch through and now my versatile is having more problems and we might be down a couple...
I blew the headgasket on my cummins and the head is trashed. It also has is going to need the cylinders honed and new rings and pistons probably since it has been overheated and seen high egts. The shop quoted me about $6000 for new head, pistons and crank bearings. The truck has about 600000kms...
I really don't care if rich people buy expensive stuff. I'm sure someone somewhere is jealous of my 98 12 valve with 600000 km on it lol. I'm luckier than them cause I don't have to live in a sh!thole like Vancouver.
