Couple of weekends ago rear link shock mount broke on a friends Dragon. He had a mountain tamer skid on it which had a nice sliding set of guides on the back link. We were able to jam a spark plug wrench socket in there, tie it in with some emergency starter rope and he rode it out 35 km.
I have no skin in this, I currently own a AC but my next sled might be from any of the manufacturers.
So the rules are, if you own an 850 post, if you own more than one, indicate how many.
if you personally have had a broken bulkhead on your sled(s) include that info, if you want to, tell...
I have a sled shed cooker can with 1000km on it, it was pretty quiet when I got it, not so much anymore, think I may go back to stock or try to find something as quiet as stock, sure would miss the cooker though.
The capacitor provides the charge to power the ECU which then uses the stator to turn a cylinder to TDC, injects fuel and fires the plug. With pull start you need to pull enough to create the charge to wake up the ECU so it can then fire the injectors and plug.
Up Rutherford today and it was fine once you got to elevation. Icy groomed on the morning to the cabin, definitely scratchers down, a little snow from there and good conditions starting around the moulin. Surprisingly good visibility with the sun just showing thru the overcast given what it...
That is how long the charge lasts if the sled isn't running, while it is running it keeps the capacitor at full charge. So if you shut off, then try to restart within 1/2 an hour it should go. After that you will have to pull start it again. If you shut off for a few minutes for a break, or to...
I think you need to wait and see what Cat comes out with for the Mountain Cat. I don't believe all off the bad that people are talking about belts and bulkheads, but I bet you could break a bulkhead if anyone could ;)
I think it is a cool idea, guess time will tell if it is reliable. I do wonder if they had to beef up the magneto windings to handle the current required to do this, and if that makes it harder to pull over when you do need to.
Ahhhhhhh Fish Creek Park is inside Calgary City limits and is a very popular park where people go for walks. Sledding there is just stupid.

I am going to be back in town this weekend, but only sled available is a 1996 Ext580. Might have to take it for a ride just to see what you guys have been doing with the trails. :d
And really not sure why you would want to take a snowbike there anyways, it's a trail system, I know there are a few places you could go off the trails, but by the time you get far enough back for there to be enough snow to do it, you would be trying to ride cut blocks with big stumps.
So did some more digging and it looks like the AC has a better shock package, Fox Evol fronts Evol and Evol R rear, vs Float Three and HPG on the Yamaha. And the Cat has the dropped chaincase. And right now you can get a deal on the Cat but not the SW. Difference in price would more than pay to...
What differences did you find? I have been trying to figure out what is different, some places I read that the Yamaha skis are, others that they are the same, why go Sidewinder instead of Cat?
I switched to spring shocks this year, and I am still trying to get my head around them, I think it is way easier to setup an air shock, at least you can record and reset the pressures to the same values reliably. Trying to figure out how much preload you have on a spring is pretty much...
You don't get what I am saying. It's not that there isn't spin off, it is that if people can't spend their money on one thing, they will spend it on another. Ban all OHV use in Alberta and people who used to quad aren't going to start sticking the money they used to spend on it into the bank...
