Yep, size does matter. An extension will give you approx. 16" of additional deck space. The difference between 6" of track and 22" of track on the deck is huge. Albiet there isn't a ton of weight on the rear skid, in that short of a contact point, it's all going to be preloading the front skid...
Northern Lights is the biggest joke I've ever dealt with. I bought a new 30' bumper pull from them in '05. Had them install a solar panel and inverter, change around the DSI water heater, and include an equilizer hitch. They wired the panel wrong, wired the DSI switch wrong, and put the hitch...
Regardless of the track length....a sled on a shortbox deck without an extension is a wreck waiting to happen. With only 6" of track on the deck, it doesn't matter how you strap it, gravity wants to pull the sled off. A decent bump or hard stop, and away it goes. You're pulling an 8,000-10,000lb...
I have 4 different sets of pads here, but none that would line up. I think Tyler has the right idea....best to take the old ones into the dealerships and hope you don't get a lazy parts person.
They look like a Polaris as well. I have a bunch of good used Polaris pads here. If you feel like driving, you're more than welcome to come have a look. If anything lines up, you can have them.
Both Turples and Cycle Works in Red Deer have them....I imagine most of the dealerships in Edmonton would carry them as well. I think they're right around the $15 mark.
My 6.7 is done....totally different truck. I went with the H&S Mini Max, full exhaust, and left the air intake stock. Sounds awesome, pulls like a freight train.
Hey Larry, I have a set of very gently used (2012) Camoplast Tatou 4S Larry. According to the s/n, they were sold with a mount kit for a RZR 800s, but the guy I bought them off had them mounted on a 2010 Ranger. I was going to put them on my RZR, but they've been sitting on the mezzanine. What...
He must have been allright for height...I seen him cruising through Abbotsford on Sunday. With it being a hydraulic deck, I can't say the same thing for weight.
Re: Thanks to the assholes that stole our gas at the morresey staging area
That happened to us in Valemount a bunch of years ago...was pulling my fifth wheel open deck trailer with 6 sleds, with 6 or 8 jerry cans strapped down on the neck. I noticed the straps hanging in the morning, climbed...
I've never had to work over the holidays, so I've been able to spend every Christmas with family and friends....that there is a pretty good bonus. I'm okay with buying my own turkey or prepaid Visa card.
