I've had the same problem... Needless to say I leave it hook to my jacket at all times and always unhook when rolling it over or at very least make sure the kill switch is off. I also carry a spare key!
I'll be running mine on Thursday with a 2.52ratio belt drive, bit I told Paul what gearing and he sent corresponding setup, I'll let you know how it works!
I've been hearing that the sp & x front suspension is way to soft, from guys your size. So you may want to consider new shocks. I'm 6'5 240 and I've got fox shocks all around. They're really easy to set up and I'm loving them!
Talking about great service... My salesman (ROB MORIN @ Riverside Honda in St.Albert) lined up an appointment for my recall with 1/2 hr notice. Then he drove to my house (I'm out of town @ work), put my clutch back on my sled (because i didn't have quite enough time to finish the indexing)...
Did they leave it in the shop for 24hrs for the adhesion process to complete. It's a must I hear. Maybe they put it out the door to soon. I'd find out.
I hear lots of good things about those powder hounds. How do you like em on your other sled. I'm thinking of getting them for my XM. The stockers work well but I know of some people running those on an XM and they're a definite improvement!
I, just like Capers brother, did not ride the sled first to allow for a reference point of how the sled performs. IMHO the kits only worth about $500 max. It seems to do a great job as far a throttle response goes. For me it was a matter of dropping a bit of weight and looking cool at the same...
Recoil install.... Handle "cup" super hard to install..... Anyone else find this?
I used a socket with an extension to push on the metal collar in the recess of the cup. It was really hard to push it in initially but it popped out fairly easy when pulled it out for the first time. The second...
I like the foam hockey puck idea if it'll fit between the tanks (shouldn't affect warranty IMO), trim it down with a knife. That's if there's actually "some" clearance (this seems to vary a lot between guys) mine was good for 400km so I'm hoping it'll get me through the weekend. I'm going to...
