So i did buy the 07 Brute Force, 1250 kms $4500, i think i did pretty good but still a little nervous after the last used quad i bought was such a lemon (Polaris)
I am thinking about building a trailer to tow behind a quad and just was hoping for some ideas, just want it for mainly around the yard work and maybe the odd hunting trip
Thanks
I am looking to buy a used quad in the 2005 to 2008 range and am just wondering what kind of mileage you guys think is acceptable in a used machine. I see alot for sale in the 2000 to 3000km range, is this acceptable?
I agree with what you re saying for sure. I rode many small sled from a Super Olimpique (spelling?) sigle cylinder, to a Rupp, to a 440 intvader, to a 583 mach, 670 summit, 800 summit. I think spending some time riding the smaller sleds and leaning how to use them to get you places is a great...
No the seat springs were not enough for this long a trip. I am not that old a guy and by the 3rd day I had to stop and have a break every 100km or so.
The bike was built by a guy in Calgary (I will pm you his name if I can find it)
It started life as a 76 yamaha xs650, which are getting...
Among 20ish parking tickets, 5 seatbelt, 1 alcohol within reach of occupants (truck was stopped but parked on the grass outside the bar), 2 consuming alcohol in public (Olds College days), 5 photo radar, 1 failing to stop at a stop sign, 2 expired registration, 1 driving without insurance (truck...
We have run dyed fuel in the farm machines 583 mach, a couple of quads and my old Odyssey 250. Never hd any problems due to the dyed fuel. I even rode that odyssey for probably 5 years burning nothing but dyed fuel and never had to even change the plug.
I have a 97 summit 670 and one of the most reliable sleds I have ever seen. I rode for a few years with my cousin on his 583 and it was a blast. I think you will have fun with it! Also we have a old mach 1 with a 583 on the farm and it "catwalks" like a mofo! have fun.
I am just wondering if anyone knows where I could find a used transmission for my dads old farm quad.
1996 BearCat 454???
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Jay

I have neer been a harley guy and never will be but, what I do know is that if you dont get the bike you want you will regret it for a long time.
I probably ride the most uncomfortable bike on the road but it was what I wanted and am happy with my decision.(see bobbing through BC thread to see...
I expect that our quad has a clutch set up simular to the Polaras Scrambler, which I have seen guys add flex pipe to get the vent higher up and more out of the way for water.
I think the wolverine would be a good choice, staying away from shifting definately limits you on the sport side.
If I were you I would try shifting, at first may seem like a nuisance but in many cases i think it can make for a fun ride.
If you could go to manual the already stated Lt400, I...
I have become hooked on the Schooled vids with Burandt and Rasmussen.
I see on the Deviant Sled website that Schooled 3 Detention should have been shipped over a week ago, so far I have talked to a few places in Calgary and thy are not even getting it in.
Does anyone know when and where it...
So I just got back from a bike trip through BC. We took 9 days and to complete but made it through with minimal issues.
First off I do not suggest to anyone to do this on a hardtail!! We put on around 2200kms, and it feels lke a lot further riding a hardtail bobber!
For timing reasons we...
