If you're looking for reliability you can't go wrong with honda. Can't say that I'm any kind of expert on the years you listed but they're overall very tough. The last comment about polaris/2 stroke/reliable made me laugh a bit. None of those words belong together
Got the same quad, same year, same problem. Pulled a lot of hair out trying to figure it out and lost in the end. Ended up putting a switch directly off the battery, doesn't charge if you forget to turn it on but the quad can sit now without the battery dying
We've got a friendly little pecker friend who likes to start his morning EVERY DAY at 5am on our tin roof. Seems to know the layout of our house too cause his favorite spot to peck is directly above the master bedroom
Mine went a couple years ago. Dealer quoted an obscene number of hours and pulling the motor to do it. Lucky for me the guy at the parts counter overheard and printed off a basic schematic of the water pump setup, assured me it wasnt that difficult. Took me about an hour and a half with no...
I"ve ran 28" Mudzillas for 5 years now on an outlander, no clutch kit, no snapped axles to date. The machine lives in low range most of the time, it's an 06 and only on it's second belt, and it's been through hell. Pretty heavy to steer with no power steering. I'm sure there are better mud tires...
I have the same quad with the same issue, electrical on the entire quad looks like it was done by a child. Curious to see if any answers arise on here cause I've never come up with one yet
Curious what a parts sled is worth. Selling a 2003 vertical escape with a blown motor, just posted it on kijiji 5 minutes ago and have 3 emails already. Wasnt expecting this much interest. Thoughts on price?
Took out the 07 renegade last weekend and the electric start and reverse wouldn't work. As the day went on it got more difficult to get started, but ran normal once it was running. By the end of the day, no spark at all. Always ran like a champ before this. Noticed tonight that the "X" in the...
First time it's ran this winter was this past weekend, ran good till about 3/4 throttle, then kinda bogs. Shut it off and wouldn't start again, and fuel is pouring out of the exhaust. WTF?
Not sure if the ignitions are still the same on the newer models but lost the key to my wife's 08 sportsman this summer, had to buy the whole ignition but it cost about $70 ( i think) and came with 2 keys, took 5 minutes to change. Broke the chipped key on the outlander last summer and it cost...
Smoked the belt pretty good on the outlander, thought i might change it but it looked fine when i took the cover off. Now i can smell it every time i ride when i'm not even working it hard. Are belts wrecked after one good smoke? Maybe it's my cheapness trying to keep this one on
Must have dropped it somewhere after loading tonight, now what does a guy do? I've broke the chipped key for the canam before, they just program a new one, but the key off our polaris wasn't chipped, am I buying a new ignition or is there a way around that? Of course the spare is nowhere to be...
My wife's 400 sportsman runs fine once it's going, but after only a couple days sitting the battery is dead and it won't pullstart without at least enough charge to light the display. I've been over the thing back to front many times with all the plastic off and can't find any burnt wires, loose...
Ran just fine up till now. Have a 2008 polaris sportsman 400 for the wife, all of a sudden won't start. Display is dead, battery is charged but engine won't turn over. When I pull it over it doesn't fire, and it always starts quite quickly. Started tracing wires and WOW, thought it'd lead me to...
Got an 03 VE 800 with mixed feelings, maybe just a little frustrated this winter. Really fun machine to ride with loads of power, WHEN it's running. I won't blame Polaris for problems I've had, each maker has their lemons. No different than a GMC fan bashing his buddy's Ford that broke down...
