I wouldn't go back to living in town for anything, taxes are very reasonable where we are, but insurance on an acreage is off the hook the last couple years, and it's only gonna get worse. Make sure to shop around and make them compete with each other for your business
Ours jumped to pretty much the same rates as first mentioned this year too. When we bought the place we knew rates were slightly higher for a log home (checked it out first), but when I called about this years increase they told me it was due to hail claims in our area the year before. I...
I caught the tail end of a story on the 6:00 news a few nights back. Calgary has a spot set up that buyers and sellers can meet up, looked like a parking lot, with an officer present to witness the transaction. Unfortunate that this is necessary at all, but a good idea if this is how society is...
These dang Scepter gas cans (of which we own 5)!! I've lost or wrecked dozens of the cheap spout base rings, now I can't even find any replacement ones. Usually just tighten the snot out of the spout without a ring and still drip on myself. It can't be just me is it?!
We turned it off for 3 years and it was great. Spring/summer/fall there's endless activities I found, winter can be a little slow, but ya know, it forces you to pay a little more attention to the wife, and that can really benefit the love life when the tubes not on in bed at night!! :) But we...
I have owned both, as you said, guys either love or hate Polaris and I'm not gonna turn this into a rant, there's enough of that on here. Let's just say that I still have can ams in the garage. Not super familiar with their warranty, never had too many problems that weren't my own destruction...
Just checked the compression on an 09 mxz 800 with only 1050 miles, I get 95 and 100 psi on each side. I'm curious as to why both are equally so low, and it's not my gauge as I tested 2 other sleds sitting here which both read 130+. Input anyone? Or just start the rebuild and don't question it...
Had a similar situation at our place, was in the house for lunch, truck was in the shop so looked like no one was home I guess. Dog starts barking at the door, I look out to see a car out at the road at the end of the driveway, running, with a driver in it and a second guy looking in my garage...
Borax and grandma's jam, but no more than 5% borax, this way they apparently carry it back to the nest before it kills them and hopefully get the queen, but I don't think a guy can ever win, works for in the house. Diatamatious earth (guaranteed spelled wrong) works pretty good outside. It's...
Anyone know of gravel pits in central Alberta with red shale? It's time to top up the driveway, haven't done it since we bought the place. I've searched on the Internet quite a bit, not as easy to find as you might think. Thanks in advance for any leads you may have
Have an 09 renegade 800. Just broke 1000miles, bottom half of the throttle is pretty groggy, then it takes off like normal once you hit mid to upper RPMs. Idles fine, never threatens to quit. Ideas?
It can be a little worrisome on the other end of selling as well once they have your address. Sold a quad through kijiji a few years ago, guy called, said he lived around the corner, be there in 15 minutes to check the quad out. I sat at home and waited for almost 3 hours, tried calling him back...
Gotta say that I like your choice. We've had a couple of these sleds that we ride around home and they've been great. Good power, they're nice and stable, don't need a football field to turn the things. That one in particular has a few miles on it, be ready for a rebuild soon
