I just read this article in the Edmonton Journal and thought many of you may also want to read it over.

All I can say is WOW. I wonder what it would be like to be a perfect...
I could be wrong but I heard that winches are not designed to be used as tie-downs as most only have a plastic gear inside. That gear may have let go in your case.
Nothing a wet suit and some adrenaline won't fix. I am not sure how the pictures would turn out with chattering teeth and shivering hands but we will try......:waterskiing:
I talked to a guy at the waterski club @ Wizard and they are 100% clear now. I will be out this Saturday for a quick rip to burn some of last seasons gas off. May even go for a quick kneeboard if I am feeling brave.
The trail was not too bad all things considered. Saturday there was maybe 25 sleds and Sunday probably more like 15. Temp was probably around +10 at the cabin. If you park at the upper parking lot we had a mix of snow & gravel for about the first 2km.
The trail up was a bit sketchy until about km2. After that snow all the way up. Watch out for the odd washout on the trail up. We started our days around 11:00 so that the snow could soften up a bit from the freeze at night. Awesome weather, go anywhere snow no powder to speak of..more like one...
No problem bringing some bags up and bringing some garbage back down with us at the end of the day. It is the least we can do for all the hard work you put in throughout the year.
Thanks for the update.
Curtis: Have you been by Allen Creek in the past few days. We will be there Friday through Sunday and would like to know how much gravel we will ride before we hit snow.
What do you mean "one last ride?" There are 4 of us heading up May 2-4. That will be our last ride of the year. Bring on the gravel down low. Here's to hoping for snow up top and some nice spring riding.
