There are a few meadows there that are rideable, but most of what you see on Google maps are going to be cutovers with stumps / logs that never get enough coverage in a typical snow year. The ones that are get tracked out very very quickly unless you're there the day of / after a snowfall.
The first memories I have of sledding were on a 93 formula plus with the old man. He bought it new and sold it in 2008 or so. It was absolutely immaculate despite him letting me take it through my teenage years. I had to wax it before I left and again when I got back. He'd make my mom get off...
It can, I don't know too many who have done it though. I've heard of a few buddies in Elkford picking their way over to try and see how far they can get to Fording. With the right riding skills and navigation I'm sure it's possible but not commonly done for sure.
Link to the new Cataract Creek PLUZ map, works great with the Avenza app. Will place you right on the map as a blue dot and has tracking if you turn it on...
Fording pass is Alpine. The trail in can be interesting in early season. It follows the Baril Creek trail, I marked it in the Cataract map here for you.
Hey guys,
my 14' has about 4400km on it now, not easy miles. Original top end. Has a MBRP Race Can on it that I don't like, guessing its basically straight pipe now since its old and ragged looking and absolutely loud as hell which I'm hoping to solve soon. Was curious what your input might be...
Hey guys, has anyone been out since the warm weather hit? Curious on if it's worth a ride Sunday or if we should be heading to Golden instead. Fuel prices are pointing to Cataract. Lol
Oh, just remembered that there's an app all of the ASA members are in where people link up that way as well. Can't remember what it's called. I'm sure someone will know, or you could look through the previous years threads. You do need to be an ASA member though. My bad if you know all this...
I would be down if I wasn't working that day. Should be lots itching to get going. Alberta Sledderz on Facebook has a much, much larger user base as well if you're on social media and looking to put a crew together.
