I go into a few places where it would be impossible to turn a 4place trailer around and even 2place rigs have to be turned around by hand. Some of these places are unmaintained and you need the weight of atleast one sled just to get in. Thats why I use a deck for up to two sleds, and add a...
Welcome to the site. I am from Smithers, and moving back this weekend. Hope to get a couple of rides in before the end of the season. Microwave is ussually one of the better places for a late season ride, but have heard that the Sinclair can be pretty good too.
Grooming has been a problem at times for different reasons. A lack of people that are willing and able to run the BRs is the most common problem, but some of our trails are not large anough for a snowcat. Other trails are not legal, and the club is not allowed to groom them.
What way did...
Cool, what do you ride and what areas are your favorite? I haven't been riding much, been kinda busy going to university in Kamloops, but I write my last exam in a week, so next year should be a good year.
No pics, and it was nose down, so the gas tank should be good. Went through the hole with a friend one time and it wasn't all that deep, apperently it had changed. I had it towed to the dealer, they are going to clean it up and go through the wiring connections, drain anything that might...
Well, long story short, I got my truck stuck in a deeper then I remember it hole. Water was about 6" deep in the cab and the truck died. Got it out and had it towed to the dealer because it wouldn't start after we let it dry out a little. The dealer isn't going to look at it till Monday...
06 and newer Doo 800s have powertech, which is basically an advanced engine management system. They get very good mileage and are dependable. The only thing that the injected sleds have is a lighter throttle pull for the ladies.
Simmons sued Skidoo over the precision ski, which was a concave dual runner ski. The 6.9s are an offset dual runner ski with a main keel on the center and a smaller keel on the outside edge. The Pilot 6.9's are good skis, the best factory skis I have seen on a mountain sled, but 07 and 08's...
Yep, I'm on the map. I am acctually doing some schooling in Kamloops right now, but I was home last week. Snow was great at the beginning of last week, but it was as hard as rock right down well below the tree line when I left on saturday.
Its too darn expensive to pay someone to work on the sled for me! I would rather spend 4 hours in the shop working on the sled, then pay a shop to do the same job in one hour. Plus I can awlays call my dad over to help, he has been building sleds for 30 years and raced for 15 years.
Do the compression test cold, then redo with a squirt of oil in each cylender to see the change. If there is a huge difference, then the top end needs to be looked at. Also, make sure that the compression is withen 10% from side to side, otherwise it needs a top end rebuild regardless.
I built my own lift and used a 1" acne threaded rod and an old impact socket to do the lifting. I just use my 1/2" impact and it pulls a sled up in no time.
I hope the pics worked, I have never posted pics on this site before, its the lift with a friends old 670 on it.
What is the compression, also try adding a little oil to the cylenders and then re check the compression. If the compression goes up, then the rings are probably bad.
At that milage, I would also check the needle and seets in the carbs and the adjustment of the float bowls.
Thats all the...
First sled was a 79 294 SS Elan with the slide suspension and wide ski stance. Twisted the steering post right off on a mountain switchback and plowed into an embankment. Sleds sure have come along ways since then.
Pine Creek trail into the Microwave was opened up in early December this year. I didn't ride it until December 29th, but it was in great shape at the time; the road in is really rough now. Last time I rode the Dome mountain was Jan 5th, and it was so rough that I won't ride it again until it...
