I guess if a person is going to mod the sled anyway, it probably doesn't matter if a person has the updates or not. As far as stock 08 M1000 sleds go i would not recommend the updates if the owner is happy with the performance of their sled. We have three 08 M1000s and the one without the...
Good day. If your sled runs good i would leave it alone. The updates did not seem to hurt WOT performance but both my brother and my 08 M1000 (stock with can) sleds seemed to load up and run poorly at times. Dealer told me my warranty would be void without updates. Would not install the updates...
Welcome. For a larger person such as yourself, you might consider a M1000 153. You will appreciate the extra torque and larger track. Have a good 1.
Good day. I have a stock 2008 m1000 steering post which i swapped out for a telescoping setup last year. I would be interested in some kind of deal towards the purchase of the seat if you are interested. Let me know. Thanks.
Was in the Barstool bowl close to Lost Lake on Thursday, saw at least 5 small slides over a one hr period. Tree riding was good but was definitely my last ride of the year for the area. I agree 100% with lightweight about it being very unsafe to do any climbing in the bowls and watch for land...
Good day. Forecast is calling for a lot of snow in the Pincher Creek area over the next week. Anybody living in the area know how much snow has already dropped and if it is staying or melting? Will probably go for a ride late next week if the forecast is correct. Thanks everyone.:)
Good day. Just got back from from Carbondale - Lost lake area, trails were ok but snow is disappearing fast off of the trails. Probably only one or maybe two days before a lot of dirt starts to show. Still a decent amount of snow in the trees and bowls. Lots of hero snow but seen a very small...
6 or 7 of us are headed to Carbondale area tommorrow. Wont be hard to recognize us, we will have a trailer with 4 different colored cats and some stragglers riding a couple other brands.
Instead of turning left at the Beaver Mines corner we turn right at next corner (1/2 mile or so further south) follow road to the steel gate and unload there. Head west on the road to a wide open area, if you go right it takes you to Lynx Creek campground or go left along Carbondale. There are a...
Went sledding around Carbondale (north of castle) on Monday, had a blast. Lots of fresh powder but i think we will give it some time before doing to much climbing. We are heading back on Sat just to play in the trees and trails.
I agree with SUMMITRIC, smashed up my M7 last year and found it was cheapest to order out of the U.S. I had parts shipped to border and picked them up on the U.S. side. Just make sure you ask about shipping costs when ordering, Babbitts bumped the shipping up twice on me before i got my parts.
We were in that area yesterday before we headed into the Lost lake area. No new snow around Lynx, Carbondale and fairly hard packed. Lost Lake area seems to have more snow and they are all within a few miles of each other. There is a lot more snow on the other side of the Pass (Fernie etc).
Was in Fernie last week (wed), the snow in the trees was deep and a lot of safe places to ride. Don"t know how much things have changed but if you travel out there Morrisey is the better place to stage from. If you are looking for some bowls instead you could go to the Lost Lake area. We were in...
Thanks for the replies. When in powder on level ground, i do ok. The problems is when i am going downhill in powder and want to turn and go up hill, i have a problem getting sled to lean up into the hill. Sidehilling is also a problem. I was riding with some heavier riders in the rolling hills...
Good day. Anybody have any advice on softening up the suspension on a 2008 M1000. I do not want the sled to sit lower. I weigh about 185lbs with my gear on but am finding it difficult to lay the sled over, especially in off camber powder. The front springs seem too stiff. I am installing the 2...
