    Polaris 800 Fix Kits

I understand that is a "common" belief that the forged pistons require more clearance. BUT... it is not always the case and not always true. You can run a forged piston at cast piston clearances without having anymore risk of failure and you gain the benefits that come with a forged piston as a...

    Polaris 800 Fix Kits

I agree, if the piston has .0065" clearance when new, then it will have .008" after a shirt run time.. Not much better than stock.

But there can be better aftermarket crank bearings, rods and cylinder finish.. Just not pistons..right?

New 850 vs old antique T3

I guess I respectfully disagree... I have had BOTH sleds on the SAME day on some very steep sidehills.. I find the XM more controllable .. Especially when you hit an unexpected piece of snow.. Easier, IMO, is not always better when you lose predictability as a result... The DOO chassis did not...

New 850 vs old antique T3

So here is a question.. Why is a sled that is more "tippy" a better sled? NEITHER sled requires extensive effort to get it to react... I think we can agree on that?? So why is the one that requires a little less effort considered better? If you had a sled that you could push a button and it...

New 850 vs old antique T3

We own all 3 brands of sleds and have the good fortune of riding all of them.. So adjustment of riding style for each manufacturer is a common practice for us and does not take a lot of time to figure out. IMO, the Gen 4 is just not that much different than the XM chassis in terms of handling...

New 850 vs old antique T3

It is really not that cut and dry... Stock for stock the Gen 4 wins every time.. Mod the T3 (power enhancement) and I, personally, prefer the T3 over the Gen 4.. Now if I was a SUPER tight tree rider, I think I MIGHT prefer the Gen 4 but I am a more "loosely" type tree rider and more of a deep...

New 850 vs old antique T3

We Have a 2016 T3 163 860 and the G4.. Had them both out together ALL YEAR.. Rode both (they are both our sleds) extensively. Can't get much better comparison than that..

SLP pipe and can or BMP?

The Jaws Pipe works excellent.. Plus with the poor exchange rate, it will be much cheaper.. Great option..

What kind of fuel should i run on my Big Bore summit?

The compression ratio is only one part of the equation that determines the required octane.. the timing and head design are players in this as well.. As stated above..octane boost is not a good idea... It really does nothing to raise octane and some can cause issues with lubrication.. AV gas...

13 pro drop in kit or new sled

Stock test is there in the list from earlier when they tested the new Vforce reeds.. this was the same sled.... This sled has been tested MANY times at DTR... But test or no test, if DTR said THIS sled made 141HP, then you can take that to the bank.. Other beni is that the 2 sleds tested at...

13 pro drop in kit or new sled

Timing was stock on the February test's highest HP run.. Timing was tested but stock made the most power Reeds were tested separate (Boyesen and Vforce).. Air box was stock also.. Shelf removed but it made no HP difference Fuel controller is required for the kit.. Most info is there in...

13 pro drop in kit or new sled

Losing HP?? With all due respect.. Not true... The drop in kit independent dyno reports are on Dyno tech research's site.. DynoTech Research - motorcycle and snowmobile dyno testing facility. FYI it makes the HP claimed..

    Axys HO HP

The new HO engine has different porting and runs at a higher RPM than the Non HO engine.. Torque values remain the same as before.. The engine is nearly the same engine in terms of piston, bores, stroke, rod length etc. etc.. They just "tweeked" it a bit to produce a bot more power and they...

Just a little FYI on the Polaris CFI Engine and surrounding rumors

Please measure the SKIRT of both pistons.. THIS SKIRT AREA is where the issues lie.. You can not "look" at a piston and tell its dimensions.. Compression checks tell you nothing about the health of the skirt.. Neither does a visual inspection.. Only a precise measurement of the skirt area...
