I've owned Honda, Kawi Brute Force, Polaris 400 2 Stroke Explorer (fun machine but breaks alot) and bought a 2010 Can Am 800 Outlander last fall. I like the Can Am the best mainly because of the ride. The power is good, but the Brute had lots of power too, but I hated the handling. I doubled...
I agree. Seems that those 10% of sledders in Alberta that belong to clubs want to tell the other 90% of sledders what to do. One of the reasons I go riding, besides the fun of riding, is to to get the hell away from crowds, get into the outdoors, and get away from being told what to do, etc...
Friend looking to buy one. He has NO quad or other such riding experience. He was going to get a quad and double his wife around, but I am trying to get him to consider a side by side as it will be safer than doubling on a quad.
Which one is the best do you think? Thinking fairly new.
I know...

When I got it back, it kept blowing head gaskets (antifreeze pumping out the top of the reservoir). I also took the pipe off (hotseat) because it was just too loud.
I had the guy that did the motor look at it again and the jug seemed to be lower than the head by a bit, so he ground the head...
Yeah I do think they need to explain their actions. Everyone else in life has to. These are public lands and SRD doesn't own them, they manage them. They are still owned by the people of Alberta for use by the people of Alberta. If SRD decides to deny access to a user group, they should be...
Anyone know of a good 2 stroke quad mechanic? I had a 99 Explorer motor rebuilt (was ported and polished) but the work didn't come out right, had some issues so I want to get a different mechanic that knows rebuilds and mods to look at it and find out what's wrong with it now.
My point is that if they're declining in the mountains with no snowmobiling now, how is it that snowmobiling is contributing to declining population in other areas? Won't the Caribou use the snowmobile tracks also?
I've heard that the Mountain Caribou ARE declining in numbers in the Parks, and snowmobiling isn't allowed there now, so I dont' buy that argument. I believe I heard that in another discussion regarding BC closures.
True. I didn't know that until I put it on and did some snow plowing. The rope started to fray. Wrapped some electrician's tape around the rope for now, seems to be helping. Will keep an eye on it. Tape's cheap.
Yeah, the boys in blue have been taking a bit of a beating by some of us on here lately. Maybe we need to start a thread to showcase good things they do and good experiences. The respectful, professional acting Officers probably would appreciate it.
