Any of us can be the most safest, snow savvy AST 9.0+ trained sledhead and still get caught in an avy because somebody above us we do not know triggers it.
Never let your guard down and keep everyone's eyes wide open watching all of the time.
Whew! Great video, glad you are with us to tell the story. You got some great riding buddies there and they delivered to save your life.
I do a mock deploy of my ABS a couple times a year while riding, just for that piece of mind.
I had two product returns with Motorfist. A pair of their gloves and a pair of boots. The gloves were replaced with brand new ones. I was not a real big fan of them, so I sold them on Kijiji and bought another pair of TAG powders and took my wife out for beer and wings with what I had left over...
Try to track down a Ford 6.8 V-10. I had a '08 350 FX4 crewcab. Incredible power for towing any trailer. The 350 at the time was cheaper than 250 because of some incentives, never really noticed the difference in the ride.
Pro's - lots of power, lots of cab space, comfortable ride and quiet...
RIP Riders. Condolences to the family and friends.
Thanks to SAR and their tireless work to help bring everyone off of the hill to their families.
Sad days.
Having POV is nice with the sled front included, as well tall enough that tipping the camera up will not be required. Just having experimented with action cameras mounted on just about everyplace imaginable. Takes a ton of work screening footage to put together 5 mins of video that is worthy of...
Thats the same one I have. Hero - Naked. (That will prompt even more pervy chatter from the boys) Not sure how tech savvy you with the camera, but if you change the aspect ratio to r4. My neck will be happy.
Here is a link to the owners manual.... or you can just tell me to piss off and make my...
Is there ay way you can adjust the aspect ratio on your camera? It might be only me, but I am always looking at the very top of your video to see what is coming up.
My wife asked me what the $%&^% I was doing when I was watching this video. Apparently I kept lifting up my head as an unconscious...
I maybe wrong, but I believe getting a DUI on a sled, would result in a suspension of the drivers licence as well.
But really....? How effective is a conviction of a DUI? Some inconvenience to show up to court, a slick lawyer pleading hard ship if the licence is lost... A slap on the wrist...
Yep. Add- Frequent stops to makes everyone is still with the group.
Couple years ago up at Sicamous we got hit with heavy thick fog. Had to come back across Skinny Ridge to the cabin with 9 sleds back tracking with my GPS.
Concept to commercial is a long way off, but not impossible. If sleds progressed as quickly as drones... we would be riding 200 HP sleds that weigh 300#'s and could fly...
Drove up through Hiway 22 yesterday for a snow hunt, RMH north to Drayton average depth is about 8" unpacked. Took a little trip past Alder Flats, same amount of snow. Hopefully Jan and Feb give us some snow...
Spend a couple days and nights in early winter with the survival gear you have in your bag to test its effectiveness to get you through a couple nights on a mountain. You will learn a lot about what you want versus what you will need.
Little smoky fires in a snow bank cannot compare to being...
RIP. Condolences to the family and friends.
Talked about this with my son. He 'thinks' he is 10' tall and Bullet proof. Just a reminder that as much fun as our crazy sport is, it is not a game that you get to hit reset and get another life to start over.
Albeit a tragedy, this type of loss is...
Good hearts, good people with good intentions to try to find Travis this weekend.
Be safe out there folks, lots of new snow and a bit more coming in.
Hopefully someone can bring him home.:beer::beer::beer:
